Oops! Maybe mistaken1 and others are on the right track. Sorry for my useless information. I hope you find the problem soon as gp's can add up quick.
I would not do this for awhile until I figured out what the problem is. Several posters have had problems in this area.
I live in Montana and I do not have a heater on my M1008. It runs fine. I do use Diesel Treat with each fill up. The old wires are off to the side and not used.
If you are burning up a new set of gp's I would consider a resistor bypass. It is easy and I made myself look foolish asking questions, but I wanted to get it right. It is a mod worth the trouble.
12V resistor bypass
OK, I'm confused
Glow Plug - By Pass Help
I am no expert, but I believe if you cut the wire you will have use the manual button to warm your gp's. If you splice the wire your vehicle will work as normal and the button is there for emergencies. I spliced mine.

Glow plug module removal
You can do the gp bypass and leave the resistor attached to your truck in case you ever want to go back. I took mine out.
I use 60g's with a gp resister bypass and replaced the relay with the BWD S603. I put the old relay under my seat for emergencies.
The result is I let my truck sit for a...
I would review the mod instructions, get another part and do it again before you have to post a my relay fried my starter thread. Only two things could have gone wrong, a bad part or a bad installation.
I would make sure I have the right relay using the one doghead listed or the S603 since that is what you changed. Then read the manuals posted by mistaken1 and troubleshoot cautiously, meaning don't just go changing things and making the problem worse.
You said it ran before. From your...
You need to do a search on the topic, then tell the parts store what you want. They have no idea about the CUCV and will many times sell you the wrong part.
GPR109 installed, GP controller card hot
Read this on the gp resistor bypass and don't confuse it with a manual gp override. Read the...
When I had the battery connectors changed on my M1008 the cable under the battery clamp was very rusted. The battery shop had the heavy duty wire cutter and crimper and the new clamps only cost me $8 each. The rest of the battery cable was good after cutting off the ends.
I would say it was...
What gp relay did you use? I used the BWD S603 from Oreilly's.
I have a M1008 and changed my gp's to 60g's. I also changed the connector tips so I don't have to file the gp blade. Another thing I did was the gp resistor bypass and replaced the gp relay.
My truck starts easily and runs...
Don't know. I would just start troubleshooting the system.

4-28. TAILLIGHT AND LAMP REPLACEMENT (ALL EXCEPT M1010 AND M1031).

4-12. CAB FLASHERS AND FUSES REPLACEMENT.
I found this at Advance Auto Parts online...
Oreilly's called my gp relay a starter solenoid too.
Here is a thread from a recent mental block I was having.
OK, I'm confused
I would get this one. It is mentioned many times in the forum.
