OK, passenger civilian jets fly about 500 knots. Military passenger jets routinely fly about 700 knots. The military jets don't blow up because civilian jets are better.
With the proper maintenance they both will work as designed. It seems the governor is on there so some heavy footed 18...
I bought the "14077157 Flywheel GM Humvee 6.2L 6.5L Diesel M1008 1009" and I also bought the "Pioneer Inc. - Flywheel Assembly, Part # FRA142" for $54.99 from Oreilly's.
The Pioneer was well constructed and looked better so that is what I used. It has been worth every...
Geez, I don't run redline all day....I just said you could. I do run 65mph every day without problems. I commented because I don't want to see someone put thousands of dollars in his engine and not be happy when you can buy these engines cheap and they will do most everything asked of them...
Do you have a radio power cable? Mine had a short and when I removed it my battery was stronger. Just and idea...
EDIT- Tug on those battery cables and see if they are coming loose. I once had a bad connector and my battery never charged right. 8 bucks at the battery shop for a new...
I was making plans for a 6bt swap when I first got my truck too. Now after reading and learning I am keeping my truck as stock as possible. Why? Engines are cheaper, parts are still plentiful and the more I learn the more I realize there was a reason behind the madness of these vehicles.
I...
I need a few days to get this done. Our son is in college and he started having seizures. The doctor thinks epilepsy. We are in a panic right now trying to get the right help. Say a prayer if you will, we need them.
From what I can tell in the TM's that is correct and it has about 5 clamps holding it in place. I don't know if I can get to them easily, but I am going outside to put some liquid electrical tape on the exposed part and take a look.
EDIT- I saw where it is connected to the +/- junction bars...
:D I think I will go read the TM so I have a good idea what to do before changing my truck back to a M1008. The sparks were so big I am surprised someone didn't call homeland security.
If I get it out in good condition you can have it for shipping price. I will let you know. I was gone all day today, maybe tomorrow. It looks like an easy removal, except I don't know how it is attached underneath the truck.
I was driving home from hunting when it looked like a meteor landed in the bed of my truck, sparks galore. I stopped and could find nothing wrong.
Down the road it happened again and I found the cap had wrapped around my auxiliary plug touching both the positive and negative cables and...
One time I thought my DS alternator was not charging the front battery correctly. While disconnecting the negative cable I pulled on it and it came loose. I got a new connector from the battery shop because they have the right crimp tool and it only cost me $8. I also cleaned all my...
You either have to grind the spade terminals down with the 60g's or change the connectors. The Wellman spade terminals are smaller. I found this:
EDIT- Go to the search and type in 60g and read. There are lots of threads about gp's. For me, understanding what I am doing is half the work...
I put 60g's in my m1008 that was milspec and they ran fine. I recently did the gp resistor bypass and they seem to run slightly better. They now cycle one time for about 10-15 seconds whereas before they would cycle a couple of times.
All I did for the resistor bypass was remove the resister...
I was going to do that yesterday, but my brother shot a buck and we could not find it in the dark, so we decided to come back the next morning because something big was in the woods with us and flashlights only help so much. Since we drove out there I decided to stay until dark to hunt instead...
24 volt saved me tonight...that and bypassing my gp resistor. When I bypassed the resistor two days ago the truck starts easier. I don't know why, but I do know 24 volt starters start easier too..
Today I was hunting for about 9 hours and when I got back my lights were on. Of course the...
I got it done and really appreciate all the advise. I fixed my radio too...
EDIT- Bypassing the gp resistor is one mod I highly recommend. My gp's work even better now and the truck seems to run smoother, if that is possible.
