For one more data point, when I power my whole house with my 003A I'm using just about 1 gallon per hour. I'd expect a little more than 2 days with a 55 gallon drum of fuel. Load is 40% to 50% most of the time, with peaks close to max, and valleys at 25%.

I have a feeling that if one glow plug has enough hours on it to burn out an element, the others may not be far behind, but maybe the guys with more diesel experience can correct me if I'm wrong.

And of course many 240V devices are OK with 208V. Certainly water heaters and ranges are, and a lot of motors are designed for either, just check the name plate specs first.

I would offer to help, but the one my son printed from my drawing was for installing a small rectangular Hobbs hour meter in the round cutout. It was more of a fun project than anything else, since for making just one, it would have been faster to cut one out of aluminum. :-D

That's the spirit! I'm interested in the load test results. Wild guess: late will reduce overload capacity, early would tend to smoke at high load, it will do pretty well.

Isn't that funny... some spring stacks look like they were not meant to actually move. I have a few of those myself, and they don't move much.

No, for a given cell capacity, two 12V flooded lead-acid batteries in series are electrically the same as one 24V battery or four six volt batteries, etc. The charge voltage really is a function of volts per cell, and in this case, 2.58 is about the upper limit for your 12 total cells.
