Are you talking about the steer axle, or the whole truck?
When I first bought mine, it had a really bad shaking/bouncing above 40mph; The first thing I did was checked all the tire pressures. The guy I bought it from said he ran the tire pressure at 60psi because it ran smoother; I checked all...
My A3 has a similar oil leak that I determined is coming from the turbo oil drain tube; it's leaking a tiny bit from where it bolts to the turbo, but mostly where it goes back into the block.
I purchased the seals at the local CAT repair shop which included (2) different o-rings for the bottom...
My advise would be to go buy a $20 mechanical gauge from the auto parts store and hook it up.
This is what I did and determined that my oil pressure was fine, then replaced my sending unit.
Problem solved.
Hope this helps.
When I still had the stock michelins on my truck, it would do the same thing over rough roads occasionally but only on big bumps.
One morning when it was raining I went over some railroad tracks at about 25mph and it kicked the whole rear of the truck out about 4ft:shock:
I got it back under...
None at all between the rears.
The only thing I haven't done yet is take it for some serious offroading, so we'll see if I rub under the bed while fully articulated.
I don't think the tires are ever going to touch each other, unless you break a dog bone or something.
Thanks.
Once I got a look at all the deuces on 395's, it was game over.
I probably could've got many more miles out of my stock tires, but could not seem to stop myself.
I thought about going with the Conti MPT-81's, but when these MV/T's came up on GL I had to have them.
Best price I could...
Every wheel or tire related thread I see... I just wait for you to comment and post very detailed drawings:-D
I'm pretty sure you know your stuff.
I like it:beer:
The HEMTT pilot is the deuce bolt pattern C-C, they would certainly need to be modified.
The PLS wheel pilot hole is barely big enough to fit over the deuce hub flange, so they are a perfect fit.
I've read many of your posts Gringeltaube, and you seem to be EXTREMELY knowledgeable about all...
The wheels I recentered are actually Oshkosh PLS Trailer wheels, NOT HEMMT wheels.
I was mistaken myself at first because the 2-piece type pictured look very similar to HEMMT style.
The PLS wheels actually work better than the HEMMT IMHO, because you don't have to modify the wheels in any way...
Agreed, bolted on is much better IMHO.
Yes, they are going on my truck tomorrow morning.
Again, no hard feelings.
Maybe I'll see you some day at a rally:beer:
Welcome to the forum Junker42.
I don't take comments like that personally, everyone has differences on what they can, will, or want to spend money on, and that's ok it's a free country.
It seems like your saying I'm trying to rip people off, and if that's the case I don't particularly appreciate...
All of your A3's look great on 395's:-D
Quick question:
What tire pressure are you guys running in the MV/T's?
Is 35 PSI about right?
I just picked up a set today, and I'll have them mounted tomorrow morning:beer:
The price I'm asking is about $100 less than another seller of the same tire and wheel.
Your certainly welcome to make me a reasonable offer, and see where it goes or you can always buy them somewhere else.
I think it's a good value for what it does, and many other people do as well based on...
I don't like posting pictures before all the details are complete... however I guess I should have thought about that before I started this.
These still need to be painted and I think they will look nice.
These are 1/2" Plate (not just A-36 either, even though it would probably be fine), through...
