Picked up a ASK for my mep002a I noticed some of the insulation is wet and ripped. Has anyone replaced the insulation? It looks exactly like duct insulation. I was thinking of asking a HVAC guy to repair it for me. Any suggestions?
Also is there a place i could buy the clamps to shut the doors?
It seems not all of my straps line up with my bows. It is on the right way and is off by a foot. Anyone else have this problem? ALso how does your canvas fit around the wheels? mine seems like it is twisted but can't really move it.
Got a mep-002 a while ago and I was wondering if it is normal for the genset to shake. Its bad enough where it is hard to read the gauges up close. All of the isolators look good. I also removed the covers and ran the genset to watch the blower and it looked fine. So how bad does yours shake or...
Anyone having any problems with your kit? I keep blowing the caps on the intake. I guess I'm will be calling them tomorrow.
Just wondering your experience
Also where do you find vacuum caps that do not crack over time?
Was under my POS M1028 and noticed that the frame is different than my 85 cucv frame. Where the cab mounts there are two ears that are connected to the frame with a bolt in cross member. Weird that the 83-84 had a lot of little differences. when they were supposed to have been the same.
Now i have one in my drivers side alternator. This is not making sense. Advanced auto said it tested good. But when i have the wires hooked up and a test light from the negative to the battery it is still lighting up. What is weird is its not enough to pop a fuseable link.... So what gives? when...
Ok a little info for you guys. I needed a new engine and cab wiring harness for my m1028 because PO owner hacked it up. This is the 2nd time I have done this swap. The new/used harness is complete and not hacked. I also took out my steering column and replaced it with a known good one, because...
With all of the recent threads about previous owners Hacking stuff up, I think we should post up some pictures of these geniuses work. I have bought 3 cucv that were total hack jobs. Mostly wiring nightmares.
here are some of the things i have found. complete butchered up harnesses, Made their...
looking at getting a mep-002a the guy wants 1250 OBO i was thinking if i could get it for 1100 it would be a decent deal. Or do you think i should hold out?
it has 760 hours
libby with m116 trailer.
no ASK kit and no Tarp
Also is a gen without a trailer and cover ok to stay out in the...
There is a M1008 on a web site that is called something like D-bay or f-bay can't remember, but wanted to give a heads up the Vin comes back to a 2 wheel drive gas job. So do your homework before you bid.
How will a 6.2 Diesel act with a 3 bolt Torque converter. I was removing my broken starter and saw that someone used a gas job one. I really don't feel like dropping the tranny out to change it to the correct one.
Hooked up batteries on my new to me M1028. I cranked the truck and the starter was hanging up like it had a bad relay. no problem Disconnect the battery and relay. Hooked them both up and was getting smoke at the drivers side ALT and the Terminal above the GPR. No problem Disconnect them and...
I know some of you guys have a lot more money into a vehicle than what the Blue book value is. But how can you determine the value of a military (rare) truck?
I'm sure the replacement value is less than a 1000, but they go anywhere on GL from 2.5k to 10K. So right now i have 10k into 2 vehicles...
I am looking for a NOS Starter I remember reading you can buy one from napa that replaces the "6598N" does any one have a part number?
I did the math if i buy a used one figure 100 bucks then 100 bucks to rebuild I should probably just buy a new one. Unless someone has some cores or something...
