That should help out with the speedometer. Gears can be had on eBay or elsewhere. There are two different driven gear holders. You may have to get the other holder for your np208 since are making such a jump in gearing.
That is pretty much it.
You will probably want to get the correct set of plastic gears for your speedometer.
Like what was allready said be sure to get the spring plates for the Dana 60. It is where the sway bar connects and they ca be a bit tricky to find.
Another opinion to toss out there on the rear disk brake topic.
A positive parking brake is a must have for me, so I have the stock drums. The stock drums are huge , heavy, work well and are plentiful. The only disk brake setup I have seen with a decent parking brake is a 2003 ish (don't know...
One last thing before you R&R the pump. Make sure the return line isn't blocked. If the return from the pump top is plugged the case pressure will rise and the pump won't pump... at all.
I am pretty sure the "extreme strength" flange head bolts sold by McMaster are ARP brand. I bought the 7/16" ones for my 11.5" AAM from them after I broke a couple. They also sell flange head grade 8 bolts for much less money.
I am not sure on the length but the 14 bolt / 10.5" has 1/2"-13...
Turn it over with the glow plugs out and the injection lines tight. If you do not get a fog coming out of the glow plug holes in a minute or so you have a fuel delivery issue.
Yep. What he said.
Pull the glow plugs and turn it over until you have diesel fog launching out of all 8 glow plug holes.
What kind of resistance read are you getting on one glow plug? Seems like a good one is about an ohm.
Also don't be afraid to move your pump around like suggested. Cold...
I'd just go with 4" (or less) springs up front. If you feel the need to go higher you could use ORD zero rates or similar. It is true that the 4" shackle flip will move your rear axle forward a noticeable amount and you may want to move it back with a zero rate or by drilling your spring pads...
Based on the comntamination in those pictures you might want to break your front end down a little further and remove the spindles. The roller bearing in the spindle for the stubshaft might be toast too.

That link will take you to a video showing the most lengthy explanation ever of checking endplay and ensuring your converter is fully seated before mating the transmission with the engine.
The guy beats it to death, but he does show a sound method of checking...
True,
The 30+ year old pinion seal and bearings can stay in the case. I'd change them... But that is just me.
That is true about checking pattern, taking pictures and checking backlash before taking it apart. I missed that. Important when using used gears.
Also in my experince setup...
Ask your builder how they want the TV cable adjusted. If they used a transgo shift kit you have to follow the instructions that came with the kit. With the transgo kit you run the TV cable looser than you do with any other setup.
Other than that it is pretty much a remove and replace...
Reusing the same shims because you are reusing the same gears is a starting point and a starting point only. The tolerances are not that tight on carriers and you will most likely find yourself with backlash (& patern &carrier preload) way out of whack. Another thing to consider is that the...
That axle is probably one of the more difficult to set up, much more work than a Corp 14 bolt. I second what was allready said. Find someone with a solid reputation and pay them.
You would need the following expensive tools.
1) 0-75 inch pound dial type torque wrench.
2) Case spreader.
3)...
Don't you have self service wrecking yards in your neck of the woods? At the pick-n-pull yard about 100 miles away from my house there is always around a dozen 73-87 square box rigs. Sure 95% are automatic transmission but you can find manual ones.
Scour Craigslist and your local self service...
+1 on getting them locally. Just call around until you find a truck parts store with a U-bolt machine. Take one of your old ones in and walk out with new ones.
If you are totally set on ordering some I can get them for you, a friend of mine has a u-bolt machine. But by the time you pay him...
Got all those pesky dash backlights to work, at the same time. To top it off it started 2nd try when it was -4 F (-20C) outside this morning.
Feel like celebrating.
You can pour ceramic beads in the valve stem if you have some time on your hands. Still faster then breaking down the wheel. I have about 8oz a tire in mine. If you want to go into full blown production I'd get a hair dye squeeze bottle (like a miniature ketchup bottle) and a short length of...
