I use a seal puller . It has a small hook on one end and a place on the other end to strike with a hammer. This way you you are not prying on anything.:-P
The wires on my rear blackout lights are broken . My question , is do the red lights come on with the brakes and the single white light in the center just as a marker? I have never owned one that the lights work so I did not know what works with what on the back.
Check to make sure the bottom of the housing is indexed to the intake. There is a tab that indexes to a slot in the intake . Loose air cleaners can make alot of noise ,plus the risk of something sucking into the intake.

It sounds like you may have gotten ahold of a bad motor. Check to make sure the motor is grounded good to the firewall and make sure the wiper transmision moves freely with the motor unhooked from it. I also bypass the radio supressors from the motor.
Not sure on the CUCV but on the civ models the power wire is brown and there was a connector in the wire about 6" from the fan switch that was bad about burning up and losing connection.

I installed my temp gauge probe in the same place and got a 130 degree reading . You have an air pocket. I took the probe out without draining the system and added antifreeze throgh the fiiting up to the threads , capped it off and runs 160.
Try temporarally bypassing the block you can always go back and reconnect the original wiring . Sounds like you have a bad connectoin in the block . Also make sure the motor is grounded well . This is the wire under the mounting bolt. You can run a jumper from the neg side of the battery to the...
