According to the manual neither does the 10k winch on the M35 from Spice maximum load on the line is 6,100lbs you can check the manual number out a few posts up. I posted the page date of publication and line loading.
Well I sort imagined placing the winch behind the cab and using rollers I could direct the cable forwards or backwards as needed. Plus I figured I would add a little extra rail to the frame and stiffen the point of pulling distribute the weight of the winch and force of the pull across the...
So the gear shift goes into the proper location on the transmission for reverse gear but once you put the foot on the peddle the engine has no load on it? Is that what you are saying? If so I would guess that gear is missing a lot of teeth.
I've driven the Unimog 500 series a lot... I got one stuck ... It took two tractors and the truck to unstick itself. To very fun to do. Sadly the truck was lacking a winch but it did come from the Austrian DOT so it had a bucket loader on the front. A cousin of mine had it and used to do crazy...
I wanted a Kraz 255B. I couldn't afford it shipped to the US or fit it in my parking space at 9plus meters long it was just too big. So I'm now attempting to make the M35A2 more to my liking, Now the truck is the love of my driving live, but needs some work... However, if I had designed it in...
Well according to the manual TM-9-2320-361-20 page 49 ( on my PDF file) published in October 1991 or at least accepted during that period states the maximum line load at anytime for the winch is 6,100lbs. So that means you can have only that much load on the line no matter the number of snatch...
That does help, but how often do you actually have enough timber that is strong to lift 6-8k lbs off the ground out in the field? I've never been that lucky... However there is an easier method winch the truck out from the same direction it entered the mud hole in. Far less resistance in that...
Great to take things out of context... Someone said to me don't you think that the weight of the winches is too much for the tuck. I had a plan to keep the weight of the truck about the same as it should be on or off road by removing weight like the big heavy bed, and other things that wouldn't...
Nope I didn't see the link until just now... And I always call the axle shafts half-shafts because well they are half of a complete axle independent or other wise. I know it isn't technically correct but it is how I keep it straight that in side that axle there are two shafts and a diff at work.
What would be the fun in that... Yeah, the Transmission I'm looking at is the Fuller 6spd Medium duty model with a rated 860ft-lbs of torque max. The Transfer Case Oshkosh 55000 series that can handle the torque. I'm not sure about the half shafts yet. I think I want to use custom half shafts in...
Yes it does... I've never seen in that in any of my manuals for the truck. It just says move to low range or high range when terrain demands it. Good to know. Still I would like it air-lockable because say I'm running 6x6 on the highway in snowy conditions I might want all the traction of six...
We designed our trucks supposedly to operate in all theaters of operations from Arctic to Tropical conditions. And since the Soviet Union and Western Europe were a major theater of operation for both the US and Soviets I don't understand why our trucks would be so underrated when compared to...
I think some people don't read. I said like four times if the thing locks up that is great but I'm still changing it for the superior Oshkosh 55000 series Transfer Case. Beyond that everyone wants to tell me the lockers are a bad idea. And I agree with mechanical lockers but I want air-lockers...
Actually the truck gets about 11.9 to 12.1 depending the road, steeper grades reduce fuel consumption plus running at a constant 2100-2200rpm doesn't hurt. I never max it out and always drive very steadily. If I go from Louisville to Elizabethtwon I-65 it is 55 miles from my door to my brother's...
