Today I am installing an electric fuel pump...will see if that fixes the surging... I think my IP is creating a vacume and sucking air into the lines and that my fuel pump is not working.
I run wvo in my m1009. single tank filtered to 20 microns. I filter thru a string wound filter system with big blue 10 inch filters. The kind you find at Home depo in the water filtration department. and have a water seperator heated prefilter befor the stock fuel filter. My veggie oil is used...
I found a puddle under my truck too...it was red. I searched the forum and found this thread. learned a little, put some transmission fluid in my transfer case, took pictures for my fellow newbie friends, and I put a piece of cardboard under my truck to locate my leak.
My pictures show Puddle...
Or pull out the pressure switch and tap the hole in the filter base with a 1/4 tap (thread the 1/4 inch hole) put a 1/4 inch screw or bolt in it to plug it closed. No more air leak. cheap fix. I also shop vacumed out the metal shavings and used loc tight.
has worked 4 years.
The surging happens when there is more air bubles comming out the return line. Also I can pinch the return line and the surging stops. I dont know if thats bc the return valve is too wide open with the \glass ball busted out or if its the air.
I only get air after i have been driving it...

Just want to report the manual glow plug switch is working i hold it 10 -15 seconds depending on the temp. My truck starts right up. Also I hold it down longer depending on the amount of Soy bean oil mixed in with my diesel. My gps were energizing for 25-40 seconds with one cycle. I think...
Yes I removed the magnet and cleaned it real good and put it back. Maybe i should change the diff and rear end fluids...after i buy that concrete mixing pan..... Or I thought of covering my entire concrete driveway in motor oil for a consistant look.
Good news! I Did the fluid change and filter change and my Wizzing noise is gone. And my truck shfts like it has a new transmission.:driver:
Now i am tempted to delete the post because of my intial frealk out when that part fell out and hit me in the face..... but I bet this might help...
Warthog is right. The one i found at mt local chevy dealer had dust on it, been sitting for a long time, and it was the last one they had. When it broke again last year they didnt carry them. I got lucky with the dusty one. Thats why i bought a welder.... and $75 bucks is a deal if you are...
A chevy dealership might have it. You new bracket will also break in a couple of years. I used my bracket money as an excuse to buy myself that welder i always wanted. search the forum there are l;ots of threads.
Ok never mind... it is the spacer for the bolt that hold the filter on. I thought I had a part drop out somewhere. Hopfully changing the filter will fix my transmission problem.
Transmission making a whirling wizz noise when cold. takes a little step on the peddle for it to engage into gear. whizz consistant with rpm and does it in park nutral and in gear. Shift ok when driving.
As per sugestion I am changing my filter and fluid.
i dropped the pan and found this...
Seems like a typical story from a transmission shop. My neighbor had his rebuilt 3 times and each time the shop tried to blame it on something else.
So was the noise from the transmission pump, ore the torque converter? My truck is making the same sound that dissapears when its warm. Im...
