I'm confused about which tires SHOULD be run on widened Deuce wheels. I know we SHOULDN'T run the 14.5, 15.5 or the like. What tires are about 46" and will fit properly on widened wheels?
I couldn't find anything that said if that was each, or a pair. If that's each, it's pretty steep. If that's a pair, then that a pretty fair price IMO. I expect the price to be a little bit more being as there's 4 more lugs on the hub.
I was actually looking around the net for this a week or so ago. For ANYONE who made 10-lug hub conversions, all I found were a few for 8-lug pickups. Anyone that made adapters would have to charge a fortune, not to mention that you'd have to run adapters. I'd be seriously interested, then I...
I think the undercoating and tint will go a long way in heat reduction. That is, assuming you can get all the gaping holes closed up :-P
The biggest issue may be getting the doors to seal up good to the cab? I'm not sure how good hard tops are about this though.
There's a guy near me GIVING away the old set of air ride seats from his Kenworth. If he still has them this weekend, I'm going to run up and get them. I'm interested in what's involved to plumb in an air ride seat (that's not self contained).
Post it up on Craigslist if you haven't already. Also, try VAdriven.com Forums - Powered by vBulletin and put it there. That's a local (757) car site and an off-road section where someone may be interested. Perhaps you could even find someone to help you out?
I got the retainer off and had the two extra holes drilled in it. The new seal is in the retainer, I'm just waiting for my sleeve now before putting everything back together.
Just a quick update, I bought a caliper a week or so ago. The crank measured out to 4.997", I took it 3 times just to make sure and always came out the same. Sleeve is on the way and hopefully the truck will be running again soon.
Rob, I'm still going through this with mine. While you have the tranny down, pull the seal housing. Make sure it has the updated 3 drain holes, also inspect the journal on the crank to make sure it's not grooved. My crank has a nasty groove in it and even a new seal would leak.

HAHA! This would be so true for me. If not for the vacation I booked at the same time, my wife would have defecated kittens when I told her about my Deuce. I could only imagine her response to something like that.
