What determines how long the washer pump stays on? On my 86 1009 when washer pump is activated it stays on for 30-40 seconds. If I turn wipers off pump turns off.As soon as I turn wipers on pump turns back on.I have pulled all connections at pump and wiper connections underhood and cleaned.Any ideas.
Good point on oil filter Rick.I don't off-road much, only some really deep snow once in a while. But I like the extra qt capacity, and it doesn't hang down that low.The oil pan hangs much lower.
Im sorry I know this should be easy, but Im missing something. When I get to the point to pick picts.I have no picts.just files to open so I can get to my picts,Then when I click on files to get to my picts. it prints the whole file address not the pict.address.ARRRRGH.I would bet my 8 year old...
nyvram where did you get radiator and part # if you don't mind. Its just nice to know for people doing searches in the future.I also plan on a radiator swap this week,I already have an AZ b850.I also plan on changing crank dampner since I will have the extra room for tools.
1009 same set up as 1008,I have no fitment issues on 2 1009s so far.But I don't have a 1008 so maybe lines routed a bit different. When I say same set up I mean same radiator, oil cooler and trans cooler.
I have T-6 in both my 1009s works great,as far as I know it only comes in 5w-40 weight.Which is fine.I also run Wix 51794 oil filter its a 2qt.filter so the 6.2 will hold an honest 2gal.of oil. With an original style filter you use 7qts.of oil to fill up.The 5w-40 T-6 really lets the motor spin...
I have a N/A 6.2 in my 86 1009 with 2 1/2 inch flowmaster super 44s,very mild sound,no advils needed.I have been told it is the best sounding diesel they ever heard.
Please ditch the banks and the 6.0l and run nat. asp. with the Stans headers!I would love to hear a 6.2 with headers and 2 1/2 pipes into a nice chambered flowmaster.Maybe super 44s.Bet it would sound awesome.
Stans headers are for naturally aspirated 6.2s,not turbo.A 6.2 with good batts.a good inj. system and a block heater good to -10.If its less than -10 you should stay home..
Today started rosscommon 12v conversion on my older 85 1009,installed new GR starter, redid all batt.cables to 1awg,added some additional 1awg grounds and cleaned everything electrical on the way.My 86 1009 will stay 24v but the 85 was cut up to bad, went thru 4 starters in 3 years. If it doesn't...
If you end up replacing coolant crossover get the hummer crossover,it has extra ports so you can add temp.gauge sending unit.A sending unit port for elect. fan controller, and still has an additional port for a sacrificial anode if you like.I got mine from cucvrus Rick. And don't get get...
Im computer ignorant so don't know how to post picts here, but I have posted some vids of my newer 1009 on youtube. If you search rsh4364 there. There is also one of my adopted son Gavin eating a bee that's funny.Hes actually my GFs common marmocet.
The more you keep it close to stock the better, and you will get better mpg with the diesel, with a lot less work and headaches. Then you can give me the ls 6.0 for my 79 Malibu, its looking for a 500hp motor.LOL.
