    bought me my first CUCV

I have been looking at Temro 280 0063 battery warmers,80 watts 36" long.Measured my group 31s and they are 40" all around.Temro says only 3 sides of battery needs covered so I think this size would work great.

If planning an original resto.Your truck was more than likely painted green originally. After the armed forces were done with them they went to local govt. agencies, and they painted them to suit their needs.By the way that looks like a solid start to a fine truck.Congrats.and welcome.

    bought me my first CUCV

The pad will keep your oil warm but the oil is not circulating,so it wont really warm the block. It is a nice addition to a block heater though.

    Decent gauge sale alert.

At Summit,Sunpro gauges.Water/oil temp.#cp8217 $3. Oil pressure #cp8216 $3. Vacuum/boost #cp8213 $3. I think keeping track of coolant temp.and oil pressure in cucvs is a good thing.I have these gauges in my 1009s and they work well. And I keep the vacuum gauge loose in my tool box to keep track...

loud diesel knock once in a while.

Every once in a while Im having a really loud diesel knock, like a bad injector, but it goes away and doesn't happen again for a while.I have good fuel pressure and it only does it under load, not at idle or even when revving in park. When it knocks loud there is no smoke. It really sounds like a bad...

Bigtard you do not want a 1009 or 1008,not yet anyways.Keep your 77 gasser and modify it as you have time and $.And learn about it.Cucvs do not roll coal or accelerate very well. After reading all your posts I estimate your age at 15-17 yrs. old.And its great having young guys and girls...
