Well, I went down to the local dealer today - their prices are about double what GMPartsDirect charges. Interestingly enough, they didn't have anything for part number 358593 either.
Michael,
Those part numbers were exactly what I was looking for - I'm going to take a list down to the (st|d)ealer on Monday and see what they want to charge me. I might be able to fix their computers again and get some free parts in trade :D
Well, it's looking to be an active monsoon season out here in NM, and I can't park in the carport all the time, so.... Anyone know where I can pick up weatherstripping for the M1009? I need the piece that seals the tailgate around the bed and sides, and the piece that seals around the glass at...
RE: Here
Nice!
I'm crossing my fingers and saving up pennies so that when one comes along with the turbo multifuel, I can pounce on it. Now, convincing the girlfriend to let me....
Got into BWI last night, I'll be here ten days or so.
And yeah, I left the kit at home... shoulda dragged that to the airport and brought it along, but security being what it is I didn't want to confuse some poor screener with it.
FedEx found my house, a small miracle in itself.

The top tray had all the necessary fittings, etc:

Very nice looking unit...
Well, I know they at least test the alternator outputs and can show engine RPMs :)
I'll post photos here when I get mine... might have to wait until I get back from my vacation.
Nice find, welcome to the club!
Looks like it's got military-style 6TL batteries. I recall those are NOT maintainance-free, so you may want to grab a tester at an auto parts store and check them out before driving off.
Conventional wisdom applies - check the fluids, carry spare filters, etc...
My M1009 is known as "Teh Beast". The misspelling is intentional, most of my friends are computer nerds.
I was the guy who wished for a Shop class instead of Typing.
Mine's centered at the moment (pintle's missing), but when I put the new pintle on, I'm going for left of center.
In my home state, there's an exemption from the lighted plate requirements for 'classic' cars that's worded such that I don't need one if it wasn't originally equipped with one...
Regular unleaded is $3.09 here, with highway diesel at $3.11
Funny thing is, down the road a few hours, unleaded is the same price, and diesel is only $2.75
Well, it went for $6,850 - bit much for me. You'd have to figure on spending at least that getting it back to the mainland....
I figure someone is interested in the auction photos, so I've mirrored them here:
