I'm not sure if yours does, but my 1960 IHC Bridge truck does have rear lockers....hope that helps. I'd imagine yours does also, since their for extreme off-road transport.
Hey, I found them in the automotive section. Their for the back and bottom. I recently bought some camo material there and recovered my bottom pad, and I added some extra padding. I will try to upload a pic ot two.
I think the shop van box is a great idea! If you mount a sleeper, gotta paint it to match!! I would be too worried about my wife wanting to travel with me then!! ;-)
I used a 4" "Skyjacker" lift with blocks, shocks, and leaf springs on a 3/4 ton chevy and paid just under $550, and i'm very pleased with the installation ease and ride.
I bet that was an interesting ride!! I would suspect ice and snow would further complicate things. I'm a southern guy, and have only seen snow twice, and I fell down 4 times within 5 feet from trying to walk on ice!!
That 5" will not make a difference.... the length that is behind the fifth wheel towards the back will. If your converting a truck, i'd keep it as short as possible. Tommorow I will measure the length from my fifth wheel to the end of the frame and post it on here....

Normally it is the tie-rods being worn out...too much slack in the joints. They sure give a scary, uneasy feeling when the front end shakes!!
Whatever you use, keep in mind that the weight of the duece is not the only factor when calculating resistance to a stuck vehicle, a safe figure is to add 50 % of the original weight to the total weight, and hunt a snatch block of that size and capacity. EX. Your truck weighs 20,000...

Is your truck a 5-ton, and is the suspension stock?? I thought about putting the 16:00's, but wasn't sure about the rear spacing between the two axles....I do have the bridge truck though....
