Some pics in case someone else ends up in the same dilemma. It cost me an hour of downtime. Also note my assistant,a Marine back in duty at the motor pool...:p
It is not complicated at all. It is actually very simple. It is laid out in the TM's . I also got rid of it but for a different reason. I wanted a serpentine belt setup and wanted both batteries as a buffer for my plow pump and winch but there is nothing wrong with the hybrid 12/24 system.
BTW you can expect the 5th gear nut to fall off shortly although using a GM NV might help a little if it has the internal harmonic damper. Some do , some don't. Mine does. That little 4 banger with shake that nut right off.
How often are Deuces on the highway. It s very unlikely. Every Oil Truck I have ever seen is just as high if no higher and the best part is the pipe from the tank to meter is under there so not only would a car go under ,it would break off the 2 inch supply pipe and fuel oil would empty all over...
It was just two tubes. The bracket for the one tube bolts over the other holes and does exactly what you said. It made sense when I bolted it up there. Thanks.
yeah I thought there were only 2 tubes as well. That might make sense. TM 9-2815 210 34p page 101(105 in the pdf reader) shows two tubes. I see gaskets stuck to the upper two holes on my old pump but not the bottom hole ??
In fact looking closely at the oil pump on the new LDT I think it's the...
I'm screwed. I just hit a brick wall. I must have lost a pickup tube. I don't see how. There are 3 pickup tubes on the new motor and I only have 2 from the od one. Does anyone have a picture off the bottom of an LDT motor ? Is it possibvle that third hole on theoil pump doesn't get a pickup...
/\ This.
By modifying it you are destroy it's antique value. My M1008 was judged last at a show yesterday because of non oem mods I did. No biggie as it wasn't even entered and somehow they judged it anyway but my point it they can't mak you modify a collectible if it destroys the value and...
The real argument here is that the Deuce is a collectible historic vehichle and by forcing you to alter it you are destroying the value of it. Of course winning that argument with those scumbags in People's Republic of Konnecticut is another thing. God I can't wait to move to New Hampshire...
Saw a Deuce today with 5 ton off road tires(not MRAP or supersingles). I think they were 11.20's but not NDT's. They looked like the super single treads. I liked them alot.
