He did not tell me exactly what he did but I suspect he asked too many questions. Just get a temp, go to an emissions for a vin check and register it antique. End of story. That of course limits it as far as uses but I doubt most people are using for it anything more than a toy. If you plan on...
I just talked to my buddy. He is not sure of any law that would make the black out light switch illegal , only that you must have working brake lights. Conn gen stat 14-96
The issue isn't what regular patrol cops will do. Most will not bother MV's except maybe to check it out. The OP's problem was with DMV cops. They are different than Local and state police. Their job is to bust balls and harass truckers and generate income . They would pull over anything and do...
There is no law about having a switch that I am aware. If you "have them switched off" then you are guilty of having no lights.
He would give them a ticket for no lights if it had no lights.
You have aroused my curiosity though. I will ask some LEO's I am friends with .

Finished stripping the old motor down. Cleaned all the shratnel out of the oil pan and cleaned the pickup tubes good. A friend of mine is coming over tomorrow to help me get the new one in. His price was a piston from the wrecked motor. I may keep one as well. Will make a nice lamp.
That is for Passenger vehicles. Trucks do not need airbags etc. Most if not all manufacturers have them now but in the early 2000's GM still did not put airbags in the 1 tons on the passenger side.
BW on a side note I read a few threads here about attempting to put a clutch fan on a Deuce. I was looking at it while it is on the stand. You know the answer may be right under our noses. A 6.2 clutch from a CUCV almost bolts up perfectly. The holes need to be filed out less then a few...
