I was thumbing thru the want ads of the Lebanon County Tribune when a classified advertisement caught my eye. It said take immediate delivery of a nice K5 Blazer. Needs a little work but out side of that she is Cherry.
I think I will pass this one up.
Compression stroke? I would do a couple of 360* turns. that resistance could be hydro lock or rust preventing it from going around a full 360*. Just double check it closely. Good Luck. Another tip would be to remove the glow plugs and eliminate the compression and spray some light oil in the intake.
Also I have a lot of concerns for that engine setting outside in the rain with no hood. That air cleaner housing is NOT waterproof and them studs are not water tight. I would be getting a 24MM socket on that front crank bolt and making sure that motor is not locked up. It may be too late. Good Luck.
Check out this thread. Lots of X rated CUCV action. Down to the bare frame and beyond. I hope it helps. Also I have lots of the missing parts you need. A few you will have to source new and they are available. No Antenna mounts here. Good Luck...
OK. I seen the rust on the gears. Clean that rust off and add new oil and run them gears. These are heavy duty gears in these trucks. If you feel the need to change anything have the bearings changed and polish the gears. The rust you are showing is nothing in comparison to some of the gears I...
Have you considered taking them off and having them tested at a competent alternator shop? I always say there is more to rebuilding components then putting a few parts in. Do it right the first time and drive on. Cheaper is NEVER better. Good Luck.
I replied via PM. But yes this is a spun and true OEM M1009 stock steel wheel. It has been blasted primed and top coated. It will require sanding and painting but it is not a wheel that was just taken off and boxed and shipped. I actually disposed of 4 M1009 wheels while I had my inventory...

See if this helps you. It is an inexpensive switch that snaps on the bottom side of the steering column. 2 wires and that is all. Good Luck.
Just a little tip. Make sure your fit and adjust the door before welding all that together. With that much steel removed from the main body structure that door way can change shape and the entire body tub can sag. Fit the door and correct as needed before welding everything up. That is even to...
If it were me. I would disassemble the cluster from the front and avoid taking that potato chip fragile cluster housing out. Not sure why you would want to remove the cluster to replace the speedometer cable. If you release the friction clip on the back of the speedometer head you can pull the...
I put an engine in one for a friend and I received it all apart and had to figure it out for myself. After I had the engine in and running I took it for a ride with the engine cover still missing. I was going about 50 MPH and I thought " Where is your brain?" "What were you thinking?" That 6.2...
A genius idea for tightening the alternators and power steering pump on the CUCV. I always loved how some Japanese vehicles have the perfect nut bolt and lock pulley as an adjustment system on belts. I must admit the first time I encountered one I was baffled and it just about kicked my arse...
You are doing great. Make sure to remove the glow plugs while you are priming the new injection pump. While you are waiting double check and replace all rubber fuel lines. Good Luck. We are all here to help. I like the un hacked stock wiring harness. It looks Great. Keep in touch and update as...
I just took one for a ride yesterday afternoon. I thought I was reentering the earths atmosphere in an empty tin can. Scary. I did not buy it. It had more problems then I was willing to take care of. I think it had back axle halves or cupped tires. The tires were like new but old age wise. Have...
