I've had this problem with the multifuel engine that I installed in the M108. I know it has oil pressure because when we burped it while it was still in the other truck, the oil gushed out where the can was missing. I got the dash out of the donor truck and it had a 120psi gauge in it. When I...
When Bjorn was here he showed me how to brew up is recipe of biodiesel. We did just that while he was here and set it in the garege to stew. It sat for almost 2 weeks when I finally got around to seperating it. I started to ladel it out but the lower the level got, the less I could dip so I went...
I was breezing through some pics earlier and discovered something, I've got a lot of 9.00X20 tyres. Here's a list.
Tractor 10
semi trailer 9
crane 11
M103 2
M105 2
Pipeline 9
5 more loose and
8 in the trailer to be mounted.
Thats 56 tyres folks! Wow, what have I done?
I need a throttle and engine stop cable for the wrecker. Not any of this overseas junk, need the NOS or OE style locking cables for both. I've got one of the crap inports and the handle came off the first day of use. It's not a locking cable either so there's no way to keep the stop cable in the...
Gang, the bed of this wrecker is starting to show some surface rust. Nothing built up or flaky. The paint is old and getting thin. Since the bed is all diamond plate can I just mop it down with Osvo and paint right over it?
Thanks!
Well gang, just ordered 2 gallons of 34052 USMC lusterless forest green. Would have ordered 4 gallons but was short on spending cabbage and needed the paint for the frame of the wrecker. Now that I have paint on the way, the engine install will be delayed until the frame rails are painted...
Well, today my goal was to get the replacement engine painted and ready for the future install. Also wanted to get the multifuel front crossmember sandblsted and painted. Well, got all that done and it was just after lunch so I started the engine removal process. Attached are a few pics of what...
Hey gang, I've had a few trucks with the ethere start on them. Does anyone have any paperwork associated with the install of same? Looking for TMs, TB,s MWOs, FMs or even a PS article. The one complete kit I had, I sold like a fool, even had the correct data plate to replace the flame heater...
Hey Gang, a while back member Peter Bog did a fabulous CAD workup of the deuce wiring schematic. He sent many of us copies at the cost of shipping. Some of you got the file emailed to you. If anyone has this file can you email it to magnus580 or let him or I know you have it so he can get a...
I had the sister truck to this one. It too came from Ft Stewart. I've never seen anything from the M880 family go for this price. Wished I sold mine to this guy.

Gang, I submitted http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?module=pagesetter&type=file&func=get&tid=1&fid=file&pid=69
today. It's transportability and guidance for deuces. It has just fantastic line drawings with dimesions for most of the deuce family.
So I got this engine! Its the new to me LDT-465-1C. Its been sitting for quite a spell without the steel lines from the injection pump to the injectors. Question is how deep does one think the water may have gotten in the pump? Considering trying to swap out the hydraulic head. Haven't tried...
This morining I ventured down to Ft Lauderdale to meet up with my buddy Matt. He's the guy that bought 7 parts deuces from Camp Blanding. After he moved all but one of the trucks to his farm, he loaded the last truck and came beck here. He offered me the engine in it and I can't be choosy so I...
Does anyone here know or think that they have a repower from gas to diesel? I'm looking at something here and have questions. The right rear frame mount that supports the bellhousing is different from the gassers to diesels. If one has the former gasser, can you check to see if the right rear...
Well, I finally got off my butt and set out to change in inop in tank fuel pump. Not as easy as a cargo since the tank and pump are under the left side of the cab. Figured I'd take the tank loose, slide it out and presto chango! Ha, no such luck. The L arms that supprt the tank are raised at...
I went by the local guard unit this morning on the way home from work. There was an M35A3 sitting by the fence. For all the folks who have been looking for those wheels, I would suggest you go by your guard to see if you can have a looksee yourself. Those wheels are purt near as ugly as the...
Seems like the dude with the -1 feedback is trying to make another sale. He's lowered the starting bid on his thoroughly abused M543 but still has a reserve. With his outstanding feedback and comprehensive photos, he should have it sold soon...
I had a chance to abuse the tractor again today. Took a few pics. If the wrecker didn't have the towing lights, the M103A3 would have been added to the mix!
For all you guys who need more winch, here's some on ebay. They appear to be 20,000# winches from 900 series 5 tonners complete wth hydraulic motors. Great drag wnch for the back of my wrecker but they're just too far away...
