Fixing the Model H82/83 Engineered Air Systems Heaters

I will make the guess that the wires go to the hour meter. I will get a photo for you after breakfast.

Its cold outside lets talk Heaters, H81, H82, H83, etc.

Its that time of year for the heaters to come out of hiding and get started so our wives still love us at the end of the day because we are not camped out in our chairs in front of the tv. The easiest fixes to try out on these H81 H82 heaters that I have found from the fault of the red light...

Removed the lifting eyes and spreader bars... 280 pounds lighter

Just make sure and put the mounting bolts back in the holes so that you dont get cracks at the holes. Or any kind of bolt that is the same size as the hole.

    60 amp rebuild - I got stupid

Keep in mind, this is a junk alternator that was thrown under the bench. I start by marking the 3 wires that come from the stator (stiff wires with white insulation on them) I use 3 colors of finger nail polish, err I mean paint pens, then I take a photo of which colors went on which posts...

They tried to kick my truck out of the neighborhood!

There is an understood 'AND' in the way the code is written, you are correct the vehicle does exceed 6501 lbs, but it is not a commercial vehicle. Both situations must fit for the code to be enforced under that part of the code. The part of the code that they might go after because someone...

MEP 805b mystery coolant drain tube

Found the answer... it is for the water drain on the fuel filter. seek.... you get a gold star for correct guess. I have looked page by page thru the manual and it doesnt say or show where it connects to on the other end, but for those that need to know, it connects to the coolant drain...

    MEP-006a troubleshooting

I have found that the MEP 805/6 troubleshooting tree and schematics are lacking also. They show now wires connected to each other, they just show a bunch of components but no wires between them, specifically the IP solenoid. But generators have been notorious for not having good books to go with...

MEP 805b mystery coolant drain tube

That was the only logical place I could make it fit also, I wanted to check to make sure there wasn't something I was missing. When I filled it with water, no water gushed from that side of the motor so at least there was no petcock missing or left open that I could not see. Now the task of...

MEP 805b mystery coolant drain tube

I picked up an 805b this week, trying to put it all back together to test run it. I have a mystery coolant drain tube on the right side of the motor that I cannot find where it connects to. The manual only shows coolant drain lines on the left side of the motor. Can someone point me in the right...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I have always liked having the spare tire already mounted next to the one that blows out. The other 8.... 9 incuding the spare should be here maybe next week after they come back from getting caps.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Availability of tires. I can go to any tire shop/truck stop and get a 11r24, if you blow a 14.00/20 you are at the mercy of SS or an excellent luck of the draw of the tire shop having a road grader tire. Ask 98G, he knows all about blowing 14.00s and trying to find them on the road.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Pulled the 14.00/20's off the front, dropped some 11R24.5's in their place.

Shipping Rates for HEMTT per Loaded Mile

That is more than fair, considering fuel is .50/mile, insurance/IFTA/payments/repairs/tires/oil changes cost about $1.40/mile. Oh I forgot feeding the bears, that is figured in the 1.40.
