Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

The stock air cleaner element is rated for 410 cfm, so if the turbo pulls more, somethings gotta give, and it will be going through the engine when it does. Without a turbo, the piston is sucking the air into the cylinder on the down stroke, with a turbo it's still doing the same, but the...

Official 2013 SS Georgia Rally Info SSGR13 thread

David, We try to keep meals at the MKT as reasonable as possible, mainly the cost of the food and cooking it. We use volunteers to do the cooking and cleanup which helps to keep the cost low. Breakfast is usually $3, lunch $4, and supper from $5 to $7 ($7 is Saturday night steaks). Menu...

    Low Voltage Circuit Tester

Old thread, but I found out something recently on the Low Voltage Circuit Tester and thought I'd add it here instead of starting a new thread. "The LVCT in your unit could be made by any of the following firms: Auto Test, Inc., Model 10308; Atomic Engineering, Model TV100; Austin Continental...

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

You only do math if you want to, a few want to, the rest of are just bumps on the log!

    Best place to mount antenna

Since the vehicle is the ground plane, center mounted will give the widest coverage in all directions. Strongest signal will bein the direction from the antenna to the opposite corner of the truck. Depends on which way you think you will need to communicate the most, in front of you, behind...

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Re-do your calculations. You have an error! The actual displacement of the 465 engine is 478 cu/in. Sorry!

Where can I get fiberglass uprights/staves?

If you cannot find the fiberglass staves in surplus, you can always go to Stefan Wood Products, Inc and get new ones. But, you will pay retail prices (which are reasonable BTW - I've done it for some custom lengths).

Pics of exhaust brackets and exhaust position

Eric, You are not alone in reading the manuals, but you are pretty lonesome in posting exactly where in the manuals people can find what they are looking for. The rest of us manual readers are too busy reading the manuals for our own edification to post helpful hints. For example, I just got...

Need mechanics opinion on my next move

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

ZOUT, You hit the nail on the head! Go in with the attitude of teaching them something that they can use to help others with and they are much more receptive. I know 'school bus yellow' was mentioned on my first foray (and since I had the list printed out and it was on the first sheet, the...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

When they get to the screen to put in the color (in the FSS section), there are two areas to be filled in, the first is the name, the second is the number. In the number part only put in the five digit number, nothing else. And, if they do, as MWMULES said, within 10 seconds the correct colors...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

I've posted the information in at least two other threads - do a Google search on "Federal Standard 595" and find the listing for milspeccoatings. It's all there!

    Usefulness of "regular exercise"?

At minimum, crank it up, put the TC in neutral, then put the transmission in 4th or 5th and let idle for an hour. That way at least the engine, tranny and TC get to warm up and spin to distribute lubricant and drive off moisture.

    Pto

Be sure to ask for six hole PTO gaskets. Got mine at Fleetpride - $.49 each, in whatever thickness I wanted (three different ones as I recall). Get a variety of each so you will be sure to get the correct backlash.

Fixed the link. Was easy to find by doing a Google search on "Federal Standard 595"

    Behr paint test.

Tell the HD people to get on their paint computer, go to "Competitive (something or other)", then search down to find "FSS" (Federal Supply Service) and then put in the codes for the paint you want to have mixed - 383 green is code 34094, 383 brown is code 30051, black camo is 37030. Also see...

    Rejuvenate 6TMF battery

If any of the cells are shorted, it will never recover. You will need to test each cell. Here's how: First, remove all the caps, then with a multimeter set on the 10 volt range, put the neg lead on the neg terminal and dip the pos lead in the acid of the first cell (closest to the terminal)...

    test

Shows up for just a second or two with Firefox 3.x, then screen blanks out as it 'refreshes' and it never comes back. Same with pics that Clinto posted of Durhamtown. I may switch to a different browser, but it will not be the newer crap from Mozilla.

Official 2013 SS Georgia Rally Info SSGR13 thread

Jason, The plan is to start cooking for the Wednesday evening meal, but since it will be chicken bog (rice, chicken, peas and whatever else I can find), you will be welcome to prepare the Lowcountry Boil instead.

    Towing A M105 Trailer?

I towed a 105 from Montgomery, Al to Columbia, SC with an F-150. Trailer was nose down the whole way, with the magnetic lights sitting on the lowered tailgate (which would have been level if the front would let it). 60 mph on the interstate all the way.
