THANK YOU for the above way of thinking, sure WISH more members thought like this, just ONE BAD accident with the MV AT FAULT could bring the hobby close to a halt, by our trucks NOT road worthy, ONLY off road allowed
Remember that 8 tons is short boom, close to truck, 18' up and out will not lift a lot. just because is a 8 toner and can reach 18' DOES NOT mean it can lift 8 ton at 18'
ONE MORE THING, before you do ANYTHING, check the wires from the shut down solenoid to the soruce, a broken wire WILL cause your event, also could be worn though in a spot
This is a GOOD thread to show owners one of the reasons WHY the drum clutch should ALWAYS be disengaged and the drum lock engaged when the winch is not in use.
WAS there a SHEAR PIN installed or a bolt in the winch drive ?????
The color MATCHES SWISSs m62, up to now, I had to have the color custom mixed, though after reading zourts review, It may be still be easier to go the custom mix route for touch up then deal with the trick paint that Swiss got for Dave.
Could be someone trying to suck in the manual extension and forgot to pull the pins, or someone NOT paying attention and TWO blocked it by having the hook up tight then powering out the powered section, that will bust a cable in a heart beat, from the pic, it looks straight
Just to add to what PB said, You do not have to worry about the kids because, everybody looks after them, kids make friends quick, at the rally you see groups roaming around having fun, kids are the main item that EVERYBODY looks to keep safe with all the trucks moving around.
.
>I would rather YOU be at the GATHERING then at a touch a truck, The gathering is just a AWESOM event, very touching, seeing the LT. see the PROUD AMERICAN for the first time is something I will NEVER forget. Talking to other VN vets was at times to much.
Just bumping this up, being that the last comment was 4 months ago and I know how things can change in a flash, so with that said, anybody still planning to or want to bring a truck PLEASE let me know.
Thanks
Talk to "TCODY", he has TWO, the wrecker and the tractor (every time I think about this, I instently drown my key board with DROOL).
These trucks were built by MAN but ALSO licenesed to GMC as builder for U.S. use, The MAN units were built but I do not believe the MAN/GMC units were ever built.
