    They are not designed as a stand alone fastener, the outer nut gives the thimble the solidness needed to grip the stud, without the outer nut, the only strength the thimble has is the centering ring at the end of the thimble.

    I believe the Canadian deuce had a 6v53 DD for a motor, if this is the case and the v6 is moved forward, there would be enough room for a automatic trans.

    winch drive shaft "retubing"--"dead-spline" in line with ear or 90 degree offset?

    It INDEXS the slip joint so the U-joints on a drive shaft are timed right. not needed (why not found all the time) but sorta makes the timing "about" idiot proof

    Transfer Case Problem with Low

    Be carefull about driving and "forcing" into low, my 819 would not go into low, after I replaced the transfer, I FORCED it into low, locked things, had to use a bar to get it out of low, if it had been in the truck would have locked the truck up and not going anyware.

    I believe 3" will be to wide, others have used thick wall tubing because of the length, the U-joints need to be timed (on the same plain at both ends)

    Might be better for your teeth to relize not EVERYBODY are not as PERFECT as your are, you need to be carefull that a RELIGON is not named after you (everybodys knows what happens next)
