You also need a different X member, and T/C adapter.
I civi T/C might not have the proper angle when bolted up, or may not fit a T/C adapter for one a military T/C 242.
218 does not have a slip yoke like both types of 242's which is a better way to go.
I tested 2 ea. hmmwv type Tach's, and the one with the buss bar connection works with the tach drive on back of motor.
The one with the round connector did not work with tach drive.
It needs to be wired up to an alternator wire.
Feet hole pattern different and don't line up.
The bar has 3 spacers welded on where the 3 attach points are.
Just drill the holes and be done with it.
Most people here that keep these trucks military use parts from all different year Hmmwv's, so none are purists.
