WM,
I plan on having a full set of screens and walls for both trailers on hand, so we can put up what is needed. If I can get two full sets of the standout struts we could have the walls out for air circulation in rainy weather and the screens hanging straight down to reduce the insect...
Except for the ASK, they would be the same as the equivalent MEP, 10KW 60 cycle is an -003A. Some generators had the kit as an add-on, while most were done at the factory, or as part of a rebuild program.
There should be a button on the front that is pushed to activate the starter (I don't one one, but other members in the local club do, and one has an electric start). HTH.
Put the stove and the sinks on it today, then decided it ought to have the roof canopies. So the top was lowered, roof canopies installed, roof raised back up, canopy poles installed and two pieces of the tan wall sections put in place. Guess I'll put the screens in next, just so they are off...
Tigger,
I'll have to recruit at least one more driver. Should have the rolling bunkhouse (S-280 on the M-36) ready by then also, so they'll have a place to bed down.
Good lighting will really help the cleaning effort, esp. after the evening meal. BTW, I have a replacement for the cheese wheel. I'm going to try to get all the parts fabricated out of aluminum to keep weight down - this one should be at least 1000 pounds lighter than the MKT. And, yes they...
Started on converting a stripped out MKT into a Field Sanitation Trailer. One I got has all three ladders, with handrails, an old icebox, all 12 canopy support poles, eight guard rails (horizontal railings), two standouts for wet weather and one long side wall section. It's a two digit serial...
Solargizers put out about 50 volts A/C in little pulses (brighter the sun falling on them, the faster the pulses), so they work with both 12 and 24 volt batteries. While not enough power to actually charge a car/truck battery, they will keep them from sulfating. I have charged a 1 AH British...
Two liter soft drink (deuce size) or three liter soft drink (5 ton size) also work well. They launch as soon as ignition is achieved and are light enough so that they will not harm anything they land on, and they're not hard to come by!
Joe,
What Aaron is saying is that this is a 2005 thread, so all the info is at least six years old. When you find such old posts, it's probably better to send a PM (Private Message) to the individual that seems to have the info you are looking for, instead of posting a new message on a very old...
Pot cradles are available easily, the pots themselves are a bit pricier, both to purchase and to ship, but Coleman's Surplus has them. Kaiserm109 in the Denver area has an MKT. My list of MKT owners is a lot longer than Clinto's - I know of five of them in the Columbia, SC area and a really...
Troll,
You're correct. The horn button completes the circuit to ground, and you get sound. If the wire has the insulation rubbed off, the circuit is completed at that point and the horn sounds off!
Requirement is to have the towbar in place upon delivery in the field. Makes it faster to deploy if the vehicle is damaged - swing the towbar down, hook to tow vehicle, and go. Less time in an active firefight zone the better!
40 years ago, while testing one of our radios at higher frequencies, we heard someone talking on a CB frequency, so we shifted the antenna to better pick up the signal. I'm pretty sure some skip was involved, but we called out to him just as a test, since he was close to our upper limit.
He...
I sent a PM advising Chris to check with Robo McDuff as he may be able to help find a supplier in Europe. I don't think the corners for the bows have changed much since WWII - I know the ones out of an M211 fit the M35 (M44 series) trucks. The main part of the cover could be made in Poland if...
Dr P., you're right! That's the way the cover for my M36 is, and that's also the way the 814 cover is. I don't think the military made any of the new covers for the 'non standard' size trucks when they went to the camo designs. If they did, I haven't seen them.
