    New from Poland

Prosze pan, the paper clips on the front are just about the only thing that distinguishes a Navy (USMC or SeaBee) truck from an Army one. The permanently mounted deep water fording kit is another, but it's not so visible except underneath. There is no alternate place for the bell housing plug...

Paperclips on a deuce look like this!

    New from Poland

Pozdrowienia pan, witamy na naszej stronie. Looks like your deuce is a turbo, and the seabees got it from the Army, since it does not have the paperclips on the front bumper. Does it have the deep water fording kit permanently installed? That would indicate the front bumper was replaced. I...

    Convoy lights on M109?

Best bet to be seen behind is to mount it on the door of the 109, directly above the handle, on a short mast so the top is below the top of the van part. Mounted there, it will also not hit the end when opened. Use something like a sugar scoop as a base to get it out a bit. Your choice as...

    MKT as a Sanitation Trailer

Tigger is correct! The system of drain pipes is exactly like the military made. Draining them is done in order from the wash, then rinse, and finally sanitize sinks. To implement WM's suggestion of running the outlet pipe through the floor to minimize a tripping hazard, (Quick, call an...

    MKT as a Sanitation Trailer

Another 'proof of concept'. Here are pictures of the Sinks setup with the plumbing to produce gray water. It is not glued together yet, and I plan on putting in some more rubber fittings so it can be taken apart when necessary. Pics show the whole setup from the back, then the detail of the...

    MKT as a Sanitation Trailer

I'll be using the MBU's for heating water as we will only need about 600 watts (.6 kw) to run the inverter, with all the heat being generated by the common fuel (diesel) for the entire Emergency First Responder Feeding System (trucks, generators, and heaters).

    MKT as a Sanitation Trailer

Sinks The sinks are from a military Field Sanitation Center (FSC - TM is on the USB drive), A bunch of them were sold last summer on GL. Gimpy picked up the four that I won there and delivered 'em to me at the GA Rally (Thanks Gimpy). I've purchased an empty MKT that will be converted to...

    MKT as a Sanitation Trailer

Well, I have tried out the three sinks in my MKT which is home being cleaned up from the GA Rally. Sinks in the picture are sitting on the existing frame, which is about nine inches too high. But, as a proof of concept, it will work!

    Oversized cargo cover is on

According to TM 9-2320-209-20P (page 613 of the .PDF) MS 51323-28 is for the M35, MS 51323-30 is for the M-36 and MS 51323-6 is for the M-34.

    Flex fuel in a multi-Fuel...?

Don, You have some rubber seals, hoses and O rings in the system. Make sure they are compatible with the alcohol. And remember the flex fuel does not have anywhere the power per cc (quart, gallon or any other liquid measure) as diesel.

Mep 002a output in amps / %rated current meter

What elevation are you running it at, and what is the nominal air temperature? They are rated by the mil specs at 8000 feet elevation and 120 degrees F. Lower elevations and temps will produce more power (amps) at the same power factor. At sea level and 80 degrees they are the equivalent of...

    como wire

Mike, That's WD-1A, not WD-1, and it appears to be on a DR-8B reel, not a DR-8A reel. WD-1 - two separate wires, usually twisted together very loosely, but not joined at all WD-1A - two wires held together by the insulation, much like common household light cord wires. DR-8A reel - has only one...

    Multifuel Automatic Transmisson?

In parades, use low range on the transfer case and first or second gear in the transmission, engine speed at about 1000 rpm's. Should not have to use the clutch very much if you do that.

GA 2011 Rally After Action Report

Ray, Next year I should have an MKT setup with sinks as a Mobile Food Sanitation Center (not a hand wash station) and bring whatever hand washing station I can afford to purchase as part of the EFRFS (Emergency First Responder Feeding System) for use at the MKT. Hand washing stations near the...

    Tarp fix question

You can also use "shoe goo", but if you do, find some way of holding the two pieces together (not tightly, but with some pressure) for about 48 hours, longer when it's cold.

    m105 camper build

If you have a decent amount of insulation, 5000 BTU/hr is about all the A/C you'll need, unless you are going to Death Valley. I've got a 6500 BTU/hr one in my shop van/pantry and it does fine in the South Carolina summers!

    Hello from South Carolina

Matt, welcome to active participation on the site. If you look carefully at the GA Rally pics, you will observe that not everyone came in an MV. In fact, if they had, we would have probably had over 100 MV's present. My first GA Rally was in the Corolla, but the last three were in a deuce...

GA 2011 Rally After Action Report

Yup, one MRE is $6 to $8, sometimes more, depending on which meal it is. A case of 12 runs about $80.
