Congratulations. Their tax guy just told me basically (no not in these words) to go copulate myself. He tried comparing the purchase of a motor vehicle to buying a candy bar at WalMart. "You have to pay taxes where you bought it." A motor vehicle is NOT a candy bar and I bought many vehicles...
If you're not buying 20 vehicles a week from them then they don't give a rat's rearend. Jwade has been helpful on minor things here but that doesn't mean things get resolved. This is actually a good thing because now I don't have to worry about having too many vehicles in my driveway. I...
After 6 months of fighting with GovPlanet I finally had someone call regarding my tax issue. What I got was a big FU. According to them it doesn't matter where you register the vehicle if you don't PAY someone else to pick the vehicle up they're going to stick you with the sales tax of where...
I picked up a new tool set the other day. Since there's no mounting of a standard pioneer rack this will have to be stowed some place. The rifle rack was suggested but I don't like the idea of having an axe and a bunch of heavy metal bits rattling around behind my head so I'll probably just...
Another faulty argument is his definition of "commercial." In this context "commercial" means "sold commercially" or in other words on a "commercial market" not that it's used in commerce.
Awesome! Welcome to the LMTV club. Even with my recent issues I wouldn't trade it for any MV I've had so far (and that's quite a few). I would suggest shaking the fan though :)
And I guess that's one way to not have that annoying air buzzer going off.
Apparently the issue with the valve self corrected. I'm going to try making the air show tomorrow knowing that if it starts leaking again I'll just have to turn around. I may have to stop every 2 miles to let the air tanks fill up but that should only add 3 or 4 hours to the trip ;)
Got everything back together including having to add over 1 gallon of gear lube to the rear diff. Took it out for a shakedown run and everything fan related worked great. The fan kicked on where it was supposed to and kicked off where it was supposed to. I did run into a problem while out...
Not a painful situation (although I dropped one of the front guard panels on my shoulder yesterday - about 25lbs - and that was kind of painful). I'm the type that likes to keep a running tally in my head as to what something costs. At this point it's just north of $1250 and that's only...
Welcome to the club! I felt pretty silly when I couldn't get the gladhands to work and had to call NDT. Fortunately I have him and Suprman in my phone so I can email them if I have a emergency issue. I have discovered a lot about the truck in a short amount of time and learned I could do...
Well it is all back together. I was the Lone Ranger until the very end including mounting the tire (which I dropped) by myself. Handy having an engine hoist (won't in the field). Keith did show up as I was filling up the coolant tank and he got the axle shafts back in so the only thing tomorrow...
