While I have several issues with GP and will never buy from them again, it comes down to this - THEY ARE NOT THE GOV'T. They don't have to do business the way the government does it. Unfortunately they have a monopoly (at the moment) on rolling Federal stock. If you don't like their rules...
After looking at the tool box on my M1082 trailer I think I'm going to try and replicate that over the space above the rear mud flap. I could make a nice size tool box on both sides of the truck that would be lockable and waterproof. I even have a friend with a metal brake I could probably...
It's looking good Allen. I think you might appreciate having it 16" lower. It would cut down some on the wind resistance as it looks like it would be under the height of the truck cargo cover and lower your center of gravity.
Ok some of the West TX folk need to join us in Big Bend in Oct. Ya'll have a lot shorter drive than those of us coming from the middle, north, or eastern part of the state so saddle up and head south!

Glad it happened to a rear mount and not the front. I've put about 250 miles on mine since I switched from the Michelins to the Good Years. I'm much happier with the ride and noise level.
I'm sorry you've had this experience. I've bought and sold a ton of stuff on this site and have had very good luck dealing with everyone including sending items before payment and in some cases for free. Don't let one twit ruin the site for you. And I'd give him a couple days more with a warning...
Rick,
Change of plans on our end as far as route is concerned. Originally we were headed over Hwy 90 but now going I-10 so chance we can meet somewhere on the way over or at least convoy part of the way back.
Note to self and for anyone going along, I'd like to do tread depth measurements on the LMTV before and after the trip. This will give me a good idea of how well my new tires are holding up. Theres going to be about 900 highway miles and then whatever trail riding we're able to do. I'll deduct...
I'm taking about a 900 mile (highway) with an unknown amount of trail riding trip in Oct. I'll try and take tread depth measurements before and after (if I can remember). That should give a good idea of how they hold up.
Ask me again this time next year. I just put a set of new Goodyear MV/Ts on my truck. I've gone about 450 miles on them so far and the mold flashing is still showing on the tread. I can say they are much smoother and quieter than the Michelins.
