spent a couple of hours today and removed the bed from my deuce with the help of my father in law. Was suprised that most of the 54 year old nuts & bolts came apart fairly easily. did break out the hot wrench on some stubborn ones. All the peices fit in my 5'x8' utility trailer  .
I am looking at a 1008 that can be had at a good price, but I was told that it shakes/wobbles pretty bad at speed any ideas on what would cause it & possible fixes?
what adjustments can you make to that D60
toe in?
caster?
camber?
I am about to start collecting all the parts I will need to "refresh" the axles & brakes (front and rear) on the deuce.
What do I need? where would you get it?
Thanks,
Joel
a few questions for you....
1. How long should the air sytem maintain pressure after shut down?
2. What pressure should the low air buzzer go off at?
3. How long should it take to build enough pressure to kill the buzzer(from 0)?
Thanks in advance,
Joel
:D :D Today I finished cleaning/replacing fuel lines, replaced the choke control, installed a new fuel pump, and reinstalled the carb. It took a couple of tries, but I got it running :) I let it run long enough for the low air buzzer to stop and called it a day. (got dark)
I'm sure gassers...
I got it to run very briefly today by putting gas directly in the carb. I'm not getting any fuel from the tank to the carb so I think I think a new fuel pump/lines are in my near future.
Connected batteries today while the old gas tank was in the midst of flush number 67.
The guages all seem to work and the buzzer is much louder than I expected. The motor will turn over. None of the lights work, but I doubt this truck has been driven in the dark in the last 15 years.
I am going to need to paint my gas tank, the first of many(all of them) parts that I will be painting. I will be starting with bare metal.
I have a series of questions
1. what color should I be looking for? 1952 REO M45 green, but not carc
2. what primer should I use?
3. How much paint...
I read, but am having trouble finding a post where someone said that M135 wheels can be used on a M35. What would the advantage/rationale be for using the early deuce wheels be?
Thanks to Ron's generosity (and his awesome 5ton) my deuce moved to it's new home this morning.

Thanks again,

I have been able to spend a few hours crawling around on the deuce, and have discovered a little bit more about the truck. Some of my discoveries have been good while the others have been “not so good”. First the bad, the cab has some pretty serious cancer at the forward edge of the door...
Does anyone know of sources for gasser parts?
I am primarily interested in what is needed to ressurect a truck that has sat for a long while.
Filters, Fuel pump, soft lines(are there any?) ,etc.
Thanks in advance
