Keeping 24V keeps the current (and voltage drop) lower in the wire making for better efficiency. 24V to 120VAC inverters are pretty common - from commercial trucks to small solar power systems. I just installed a 2750watt inverter tied to the rear radio shelf. I have a 100 Amp fuse at the...
Made her earn her keep by pulling out a 8" Maple tree and pulling a cut 12" Poplar tree that was tangled in the canopy. Now I can get the deuce down the forest trail to the back of my house. (BTW-that's diameter, not height!). Still waiting on the collectors insurance so I can get her on the...
What have you done to your CUCV today/lately?
Finally got my electric A/C installed. I have a 2400W 24V inverter but the A/C only takes about 800W for 12K BTU. . Starting surge does max the inverter. Hot air discharge is between the sidewall skins - there are plenty of exits for the air. I'll...
Not having the time but wanting my M1009 in good shape for driving to Findlay in a couple of weeks, I had my mechanic replace the harmonic balancer (preventative - it was original), repack all four wheel bearings, replace front wheel boots, and change the belts (as long as they were off anyway)...
And let it idle for however long to get up to 120F before moving out? No. It's a farm and I have a Bobcat. I'll pull it out with the Bobcat BEFORE starting the engine.
And yes, that is either a massive oil leak or the crap that was in a cooler on that side of the garage. Guess which one.
That door is 10' wide by 8' high (118x93). I knew when I built the house I wanted a larger than standard door, I just didn't know I would be getting a deuce.
It looks like I can modify the horizontal trim above the garage door to make it like a drawer. I can then easily remove it and gain 5" of clearance without any tire pressure changes. It should be pretty easy to do since the trim is actually furred down from the header (and I built the house)...
We it is in. Needed to let some air out of the tires to get it in today. I saw when getting it in that I can make a simple modification to the trim that will give me another 5" of clearance when I take the vehicle in and out. I have four feet to spare in length of the garage and only had to...
When I clean out the junk in the garage this morning and put the stuff in better order, I will have space for the deuce. Since it does fit, I might as well keep it there. It is a lot easier to work in the garage than on the gravel driveway. I obviously was not using the space well anyway, this...
