    My New toy

Finally tore into the wiring tonight. My buddy Rob and I pulled all the old wiring out of the truck and the dash, ready to install the new harness. Also removed the CCKW hardtop for the time being. Will be nice to get some extra space and light while working under the dash! Getting new...

    My New toy

Well today I got to take my truck on its longest ride in years...about 2 miles! My new speedway harness showed up, so I had to bring the truck up to my friend's garage to tear into the wiring at long last. Truck ran great, I'm 99% sure however that the carb still needs tweaking. It is running...

    Wooden floor in M37

This is a great thread. I am going to do this to my M-37 after I have it on the road for awhile. I work in a local saw mill during the winter months, so I will be purchasing locally harvested white oak... I'd LOVE to see more pictures of how you made it all go together...this is a great...

    M37 Flooding Bad

Correct me if I'm wrong...but doesn't fuel in the oil mean your rings are bad?

    M37 Brakes

I figured I'd chime in here. I work for my state's forestry agency, and we have power wagons (granted they are civi ones) which we use as brush trucks. They aren't the first truck out the door anymore, but when you need them, nothing does what they do better. They can be invaluable assets...

    My New toy

So the last couple weeks my M-37 have been downtown at my buddy's shop...besides attracting a LOT of attention (and a lot of purchase offers), it had a full clean up, and tune up of the carb. He also installed some new spark plug wires for me, and gave the fuel system a good flushing. Truck...

    My New toy

In my experience with flatheads, it's a good idea (especially on the smaller 230 and 218 to install a secondary electric "flow through" fuel pump. Both the civi PW's I work with have this. It helps in the summer heat when the engine is working hard and starts to vapor lock (the smaller engines...

    My New toy

I used Carter M2090, which is listed "dodge B-1 Truck, Dodge 1-ton." This won't be the standard military model with the primer, but it was what came on my truck, and works fine. Thanks for your kind comments! I look forward to getting a bit more done!

    My New toy

I did actually! Ended up replacing the fuel pump with a new Carter model, adding an inline filter before the pump, and bleeding the fuel system all the way back to the carb...that solved the issue! In the last 2 weeks or so, I've replaced the points, rotor, condenser, cap and coil. Waiting...

    My New toy

Decided I will be doing a new wiring harness myself...Going to do the rear first, using a trailer harness...got the turn signals and stop lights today. The brakelight switch in the MC is an SLS-24 I found out through some re-search...but nobody seems to sell the "pigtail" or the female end of...

    My New toy

I just wanted to point out to anyone following this thread, that of the body bolts which I ordered from Midwest Military, the two REAR bed fasteners were about 1/2" too long. They were the right bolts, but too long. I cut them and threaded them to the right size, just an FYI for everyone...

    My New toy

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! Saturday morning my friend Rob (mrcucv here on SS) and I put my bed on. Used a borrowed engine hoist to suspend it in the air and back the M-37 under it...didn't work perfectly, but it worked well enough! Getting those 2 rear bolts in the bed, the...

    My New toy

Finally...after 3 months of no progress finally was able to get some parts collected this week. Have a Carter P4603HD Rotary Vane Electric Fuel Pump headed to me...I installed one of these as a replacement on our 1957 W300M power wagon at work, and have been very happy with it! As soon as...
