Here’s the problem….. If it sits for much longer than that it needs to be cranked and cranked and cranked. I do take breaks on the starter. There’s no “wait” light. When it does start, there is no smoke a
How long do you have to crank for?

Did you ever fix your problem? I was just driving my 1028 and as I came to a curve in the road my steering locked up.
When I came to a stop my steering wheel wouldn't turn. I kept trying to turn it back and forth until all of a sudden it freed up.
I'm having the same binding thing you described...
I remember someone saying you can not drive them off base you have to tow them? never bought from GL so i dont know for sure...I have heard many horror stories of the evil fork trucks damaging drive shafts and god knows what else.
If it were me , i would plan on towing it home.
sorry i cant find my stock crossmember to take pics of, to much crap in the garage, but yours does look bent to me. I think a little heat and she will straighten out pretty nice.
good luck

Thank you Barrman. yes there is something applied to the gasket. I tried turning the pump lightly with a pry bar but it will not budge.
The 8 metal fuel lines shouldn't turn with the pump right?
My tranny guy charged me $2,100.00 to pull out the 400 and install a 700r4 with t/c that he rebuilt...that was about 2 months ago and i am again bringing it back to him on tuesday so he can install the CORRECT 3-4 valve...
I think $800.00 is a great deal
