I also forgot to add that when I removed the head there was a small amount of diluded motor oil/diesel in the shut off area, so i assume the head was worn and leaking fuel by the plunger. There is also a guy in the classifieds that has a guarenteed good new/ or rebuilt pump for sale.
I had this happen on two differant trucks of mine. One, the fuel cut off looked like it was all the way forward but was at about 6 oclock. Removed the shut off lever ,lubed and re-installed nice and loose no problems.
The other would run as you have described, lots of cranking, jam a gassed...
I had touched on this a couple months ago in another thread. Most of the replies were of the "It does not apply to me"
I have farm plates on my M51 and I am required to have a USDOT# and health card. The new USDOT rules were extended for farmers until this past week.
Don't believe me, go to...
I have had some time to fool around with the IP that looks new. I installed it and it operates as a new one should. I took pictures and a short video to prove it. Without any supporting paperwork I had no idea of it's condition, now I can guarantee it will work.
In reading this post I had a thought. How much does a loaded semi trailer weigh in regards to the tractor pulling it? The new F150 will tow 11,200 lbs and the truck weighs about half. I am not condoning anything unsafe, and I know it may not be apples to apples, just a thought
I purchased a lot of 3 Multifuel IP's a week ago. There are two that look like they were installed and one looks new, no signs of it being installed. How can i tell if it is new without actually installing it? I would like to sell it if it is new and dont want it to look used. The two used...
Ether........yikes! I am with papabear on that knock. It does not sound like it went away. Did it run fine when you parked it? I hope you did not detonate anything. I would refrain from high rpm's until you figure out what happened.
Did you break the screw on the side of the HH? if so you will have to replace the head, as I understand they are machined and fitted for each head. been there!
Sounds as if there is some sludge in the nozzles. WVO should be heated or used in a low percentage mixed with diesel to keep it thin...
What voltage is the ignition system? A 12 volt system will have 9.6 volts at the coil through a resistor. Have your points been burning the faces also? I think some coils have to be mounted vertical. I believe the capacitor protects the points, but it could be shorted out and causing the...
This flow chart will explain what I was trying to say about removing the T-stat. If it is removed it could bypass the radiator all together and eventually over heat. The Mercedes 617 has the same set up. I do know what you mean about removing a T-stat, but this system is a little different than...
I think you need the Thermostat in there for the by-pass feature. I would buy a new one. Check your belts. has the system ever been flushed? The rad could be plugging up. Has the fuel been turned up? Clean Air filter? lugging or overloading the engine, stuck or dragging brakes parking brake...
I picked up one from NAPA about $75 , comes with some fittings and mounting hardware. I have had it on for about a year, works great. This was for my M51 but same setup.
With fuel prices as they are I would buy a local Deuce. I had a Deuce hauled home a few yeas ago from that area and it was $900 then. I would not be surprised to see quotes from $1500-3000, and you can buy a reliable deuce up here for that. There are several guys on here that have several to...
