If you get over to Poplar Bluff, Mo. There is a guy that has one, also some cucv's and a M43 sitting out side his building. I haven't had the time to stop always in a rush heading to my land. He's on 67 southbond side 1 mile are so before the cut off to 60 west.
I feel for you, had the same thing with a neighbor. So from time to time to time I park the 1008 with the 101 hooked up in the street in front of his house. Just a legal way to get even with him.
There has been a couple of threads in the past on repairing them. For a manual set up, go to the cucv sticky, it tells how to make a manual switch for the GP's.
Well you found the city code for oversized parking, since you plan to plate as a CMV. I would find out what the city code said about CMV parking. Where I'm at a m35 is a CMV no matter that it has AV plates and can't be parked in my own driveway. On the other hand you can have the worlds...
From a saftey point of view, is this your first time hooking to any type of trailer or just a military trailer to drive a TT combo? A unknown trailer, as far as road worthy, is not the time to be learning. If you haven driven tractor trailers before than disreguard my post. As for Non...
I'm sure some might disagree , ONLY use the trolley brake to check for brake lights when doing your pre trip. That being said make sure all of your air valves are working right, with no air leaks. When you are loaded heavy, use your low gears and motor to hold you back while coming off a 4-6%...
Been running AV plates on the m35 since 2000, never been pulled over. I'm just cheap, but since it seems that I'm always doing maintance oh her, that will be my story:-D
The ball as the base is what I'm using on my M1008, bolts right up. But you can't drop it any if the trailer sets to high, also you lose the turning of the pintle for off roading. Please keep in mind that the M1009 is NOT an ideal tow rig, as it has been covered many times here.
Question, did you just get from GL? The seals will dry out if it was sitting for a long time. Bud of mine had the same problem (PC3NMCB), After driving it for a couple of weeks the seals got lubed and quit leaking. If after a couple of weeks of driving there is a chance they will reseal, if...
Its a cool place, last time I stoped in there they even had a german swimwagen on loan. Its at MM 237 lexington NE, and you can get in there with a tractor trailer.
Use a test light, check for power "with the key on" pink wire on top of the IP, if you are not getting power there it will never start. Pull a wire off one of the GP's and check for power. If the pink wire has power, you should hear a click when you push the wire back on.
