I'd do that, but the one that's on my truck now clearly isn't meant to be submersed in diesel fuel, it has turned into an awful spongy material. Looking for the correct hose here.
After reading the entire thread, the only viable option that I saw for a submersible line was the "high temperautre viton rubber tubing" (1/2"ID, 5/8"od, 1/16"wall) from mcmastercarr. Will this work?
Well, I don't have a brass hammer, so hopefully I don't crack or mar things up too badly. Also, is it just as difficult to get the steering arm back on?
Both seals have been removed with the fantastic pipe suggestion. Now I'm stuck with trying to remove the driver side steering king pin plate. Hitting it with a 4 pound hammer doesn't even budge it. Does it just pull off the studs or does the steering arm etc. need disassembling first?
I'm having quite a hard time trying to remove the inner axle seal on the passenger side. The slide hammer doesn't seem to be doing anything at all besides breaking my hand and wrist. Are there any other ways of doing this?
I used vise grips on the 1/8 vent fitting. I clamped them as much as I could, then used the pioneer rack to hold the grips while I turned the mc cap with a wrench.
Yes, I know where the master cylinders vent line is, but not the airpacks. From what I'm guessing it's the one I've posted in the picture a few posts back. If that's the case then the entire airpack would need removing?
I'm currently in the process of changing the front axle boots and I'm wondering where the fill port is on the axle to re-top it off with 85w90 gear oil? For the 2nd question, does the airpack need to be completely removed to get to the vent line? Is the vent line behind the airpack?
I accidently bent the sides on the brass fitting applying too much force, so now the vent line wont thread into it. Anyone know where a new one can be purchased?
Picture below, a bit of brake fluid from the master cylinder mixed with some water in a jar. The fluid seems to have separated itself from the water. Dot 3 or Dot 5?
