Oh my where do I begin.. I started on this thread looking at a locking gas cap and then just kept going. Well done!!! You have tackled most of what I want/dream to do to my deuce, bucket seats, snorkel (although mine ram air), and to top it off the same kind of receiver hitch I was planning on...
I know how oil can get it there possibly. If you are getting oil in your air lines from the air pump then you have a leak in your air pack the oily air could be mixing with the brake fluid. Sounds like there is a leak somewhere do you see one. if not check the slobber tube off the engine, the...
Well to go in a different direction, this thread helped me for asking a now stupid question.. ha ha.. My Deuce is on singles but my Generator trailer has dual wheels, now I know why they didn't come loose when I took the outer set off.:?
I also don't see any turn signals.. You should ask about these things, was this truck going to be parted out? If not why is all that stuff missing? Perhaps it's included in the "extra stuff"??
I wouldn't be worried about a Non-Turbo, I have one and it runs just fine. Either way they are underpowered trucks and you have to get used to driving slow. A 5 ton may be an option but most are NON Multifuel, didn't know if that was a option you wanted. Also in allot of states you need a CDL...
I wanted to share this with you guys. My dad has been carrying on a tradition of drawing a picture in my Birthday card every year with something that's been going on in my life. This past year it has been the Deuce and this was drawn in the card. I was totally blown away. He was a architect...
Wow, that does not look familiar at all. I am surprised it came out of there as it's a pretty good size. Not sure where that would go.
Anyone else seen something like that??
RangerDave, sorry I missed your post earlier. I think since the air pack is like an air tank it just collects condensation. Also you could be getting moisture through your air lines from the air tanks as they collect moisture as well. I think since you said you don't use it much you probably...
All I can say is that I used all the pieces in the rebuild Kit. Do you have a pic of what's left over? That may help. I was in the middle of mine and had a few pieces left over until I took apart a few more things. They are a little hidden sometimes.
If anyone switched from a Long Airpack to a Short one, did you notice any difference in performance? By that I mean a properly functioning long one vs. a properly functioning short one? Are there any benefits to be had by making the switch? I rebuilt my long one last year and it's terrific...
Funny how big it looks in the 1st pic and how small in the 2nd. Doesn't look like there's much armor/protection for the driver and copilot.
I bet not allot of guys going to call shotgun on that one.. Think about when the turret is in use.. ouch hot brass!
I went with a bigger muffler but I am looking for a heat shield as well. Perhaps something I can fabricate.. Defintitely made a difference in sound for me as well but I don't have a turbo:(.
Thanks for the Link LuckyDog, good reading, I plan on breaking down the IP a little more this weekend to see if the plunger is busted or not and if I can free it up.
Yeah no white smoke or anything. I took off the IP tonight and noticed that the Plunger Sleeve was stuck, I freed that up but not sure if the plunger itself is also supposed to be moving. I am planning on taking off the Delivery Valve Holder next to see if something is stuck up in there but...
Robbied46, I did hold the throttle out in various different positions to see if there would be any change but nothing. Thanks, I will check the metering valve, (when I find it :)) perhaps that is it.
1800 Diesel, I did not bleed out the air out of the system but I had the fuel pump running for...
