Each step was a failure after priming the truck, getting it started, shut it down & after 15-20 minutes, trying to restart the truck.
I did try checking for fuel at different points.
The fuel shutoff solenoid is working correctly.
The 936 is the wrecker version, it's an A2 which means it's the...
I know this is an older thread but wanted to post. I searched & never came up with this thread.
I posted in another older thread about fuel prime issues & MtnSnow mentioned the check valve in the return line.
Truck in question is an m936A2 (wrecker, 8.3)
At auction site, infamous "ran when...
Thanks
Ill check the return check valve.
Didnt mention in my first post that I even used the 2nd tank with no luck.
1st tank, I did pull the tank & check the pickup tube (with the wrecker bed you have to pull the tank to gain access).
Im having a fuel problem on a recently acquired m936a2, it looses prime.
I have replaced all lines from tank to pump (bypassed the selector valve & large frame mounted fuel filter).
Replaced small engine mounted fuel filter and checked pickup tube.
Prime truck, it will run fine, shut it down &...
Yeah I've got a set that are junk !!!
The beads "locked up" in them & they won't warranty them.
They were "just out" of warranty !!!
Over priced CRAP !
Go with the powder & just be sure to clean the inside of the tires & wheels real good 1st.
I do not know of an adapter that will fit.
The 400/4l80 has a 6 bolt adapter & the 700r4 is 4 bolt.
If your doing a duramax/Allison swap, why waste the time & money putting the 700 in it ?
Even if the trans is free you will still have misc costs i.e. driveshafts, tv cable, bracket etc.
None...
700r4 is 27 spline
400/ 4l80 is 32 spline
If I were gonna do it it would be a 4l80, there is a reason they only used 700's in underpowered 1/2 ton vehicles.
One of the problems of ours (not the chinese) is we are lazy & want the lowest price.
Well when price goes down so does quality.
chinese make cheap quality stuff & it SELLS so they make more, simple.
Hard to sell quality tools when people prefer to buy crap just because it's cheaper.
AND yes...
Yes, I would balance them.
Any REAL tire place can balance them, most firestones, goodyears, discount tire or ntb's CANT (mentally or physically).
Find a truck tire shop !
If you think that's something you should see all the fields of equipment back in behind RRAD.
I saw some tanks that judging by the trees that were growing up around them, had to have been there 25-30 years.
Few years back they had hmmwv's parked everywhere you could fit them & were cutting...
Two other possibilities that haven't been covered.
1 tank vents clogged or stopped up.
2 fsov might be retracting but shut off lever is NOT returning to open
(im fighting that issue right now with a recently acquired m936a2
