IF it truly is British you'll have to adapt it from Right-Hand-Drive to Left-Hand-Drive.
OR you could just install a Right-Hand-Drive steering kit.
(just kidding!)
Thanks Guys!! :-D
I already knew what the internals of the vents are comprised of. & it is the little rubber disk seal that has me most concerned. I figure that they MUST BE a bit old & weathered by now...
I agree that routing all the way up to the air cleaner (or some other similar high...
Except that some of the Deuces have vent line routings that ALSO go to the brake booster, AND on some deuces they also connect to the gas tank.
So you'll have to be 100% certain of the routing.
You'd also have to ensure a continuous downhill path from the reservoir to the M/C.
I want to ensure that my axle vents are working OK...
WHY? I recently replaced a rear axle seal on 2 axles, & I do have a weeping pinion seal on one axle (this is the next item on "the list"). So I want to be 100% sure that the vents are not clogged or malfunctioning in any way.
I know the...
Looks Good!
:?: How do you remove it?
I'm thinking of using something like this to quickly treat existing external rust spots. BUT later I would want to remove it to properly undercoat & paint. So OBVIOUSLY I don''t want to use anything that will leave any residue that could compromise...
BTW: Your BUTT is simply gonna LOVE that Spring Seat!!
When I bought my '71 Deuce I didn't know that it had a spring seat.
What a GREAT Suprise that was at pick-up!!
Now I just need to get ANOTHER for the passenger's side! (I'm already tired of listening to passengers complain about their...
Good call!
Been there! Done THAT!
Although odds are slim that anyone who might have happened to find it before you got there would have had a use for it!
Did you check the hub temps after the repair? (IR Gun should show no more that 130degreesF after a 20 munute drive at highway speeds...)
My '71 seems to be noisiest between about 47-50mph. Seems to be a natural frequency harmonic zone that naturally quiets down as I pass the 50mph mark. Seems more prominent when under load (going up hill) vs when cruising level or coasting.
As long as I keep it at approx 50-55mph it seems to...
:ditto:
I fully understand the desire to get a truck home where one can comfortably work on it with all of your tools at hand, plenty of liquid refreshment nearby, and a familiar bed to rest in. But I hate to think what would have happened to you AND any other parties in your way had you...
I'd be willing to bet that this has been a driver's response on more than one occasion...
"But Officer, it doesn't weigh over 10K. The truck only weighs 2.5 tons! That's what it is called!!"
"DOH!!"
Here's the PM sheet on checking the Torque Rods...
