I do not think that they cut the floor. They did use a different transmission cover that is much taller and more square than the stock cover.
I am in the process of trying to determine which transmission they used when they put in the V6

The photo is from a finished restored 1942 jeep and not the 1943 jeep that I am working on at the current time. I used that photo to show where I needed the measurement.

I believe the jeep I am restoring has had the steering column moved as I have to stuff myself in to get into the drivers seat with a 1" bottom cushion. Or, my beer...

Found an even better picture. This shows a single wiper assembly with the "Collar/Lock" assembly included. I believe this parts package was dated 1944
The TM shows part number 7069272 with N&P No 454602 as the "collar" assembly for a MB/GPW tandem hand windshield wiper assembly and 7069274 with N&P no. 454603 as the "lock" for the same assembly.
I am gathering parts for a 1943 GPW restore and am looking for any help I can get to find these...

I keep nudging towards a original power plant myself. The jeep engine sound can only be made by the old GPW L4 or 134 Devil flatheads, so I am told. A lot will come down to the $$ and dismantling discoveries that will be made.
