Thanks. I'm more interesting in something that will help me put a clip-on chuck on the outers, tho.
Maybe a flexible extension that will clip onto one of the holes in the rim so the valve is now pointing parallel to the wheel?
Good thread. Question: What could one use to extend and change the direction of the OUTER tire's valve stem?
My setup is that I've got a regulator at the cab air supply and I just set my air hose with the clip on chuck on the stem and walk away. That's not hard to do with the inners as-is...
I don't live in Pennsylvania... however, I believe many, if not most, of the States have the same rules regarding Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and combined gvwr limits.
At least in Texas, the deuce by itself does not meet the minimum GVWR of 26k for a CDL. The truck has an on-road rating of 10k...
Wired her up with 5 amp fuse at the battery, switch, and 5k ohm pot. It works!
For mounting, I think I'm going to use my cnc to cut mounting positions for the pot and the switch in a piece of plywood and then bolt that to the tub where there's already a hole.
The diagram on the pot was...
Not true.
If the engine is capable of turning faster (which the LDS is) without blowing up, it will be able to turn the wheels faster.
LDS has a max safe engine speed of 2800? rpm Deuce is 2500.
That would make the max safe road speed 62.8 mph @ 2800 engine rpm
60 mph would be 2676 engine...
Another option for a cheap, but powerful motor would be to buy an old used treadmill and gear it down to get your torque/speed requirement right.
surpluscenter.com also has alot of good, inexpensive motors.
Welcome to the party!
I have a surfeit of deuces and am looking to sell one. I'm about 3 hours south of Austin.
Also, there's an excellent MVPA chapter in Austin. Their biggest event is coming up soon (Vet's day parade Nov 11). Several of their members are on this board.
