    Survival 109 build

I really found the ultimate portable back porch but I do not think a Deuce would have enough power to pull the hills around here.

    Survival 109 build

The porta potti was designed by a distant cousin of mine, Frank Sargent who got tired of a Airstream camper with"no place to go, shall we say". Wonder what he would think of a Deuce Camper?? You are making good progress. I saw this truck back porch from some site. I like the design...

New MKT Fueling and Tear down Videos - Bonus Burger

For portable ranges, why not use frame of angle iron to fit oven bottom flange into and use metal casters with brakes ? I move stuff with the 2x2 foot furniture dollies all the time and you could move oven and burner with no problem. Do you have any ideas for spice racks or utensil racks...

    M35A2 or A3 or 5 Ton?

What about a M109 shop body truck? 7x 12 foot lockable box plenty of room for stuff/ porta potty ,sides to mount awning? I am trading for one and the possibilities are endless. I have both a Deuce and 5 ton and they are about the same length but you sit higher in a 5 ton and it takes some time...

Old report - oil analysis in military engines

I know one thing, do not get synthetic oil with the idea of burning it for shop heat. SYNTHETIC OIL WILL NOT BURN IN A STOVE OR OIL BURNER!!!

    My m923a2 in Central TX

Good looking truck. I would suggest an oil analysis sample kit to check your oils and engine condition. Heavy equipment dealers have oil test kits and you can test engine and automatic transmission oils. Will report on contamination, fuel in oil, etc. Gives you a baseline on condition . Have...

    Chemical Storage @ Your Motorpool

Do not mix ammonia or urine with chlorine bleach as you will relive WWI with your chlorine gas cloud. Fraternity brothers cleaned urinal with bleach/ammonia mix and run everyone out of bathroom with fumes. Never store any metal items with chlorine in any form ,such as pool chemicals unless you...

    Survival 109 build

One thing I did in my house was to back up drywall or paneling walls with plywood in areas where I could mount anything anywhere. Handy for hanging pictures, shelves etc. I can't wait to see your plumbing and tank locations. I am leaching ideas off of your build. I plan a semi dry camper build...

    Hello from middle TN

Welcome from Wild Wonderful West Virginia!!! I have a 5 ton..... M925a2 boy are they fun to drive. You have to get used to something BIG that takes a while to stop. As far as a bed you may need to get out a tape measure and see how much bed you need. Research pictures of similar trucks with...

1966 deuce trying to start after 17 years of slumber

Once engine and valves are loose, you can prelube by cranking the engine over with fuel kill knob pulled out to build up pressure without starting. Make sure fuel kill rod works or you may be on youtube with runaway engine . I would suggest a oil sample be sent off for analysis to have a...

    New guy from nc

Welcome from Wild Wonderful West Virginia!! I have what I call my $100,000 GI hot dog cooker a MKT85 trailer that I have filled out with Ebay and GL parts. I am ready to clean and test the burners. There is lots of info on this site. The hard part is there is no sinks since the Army used a...

    Survival 109 build

I worked summers on the State Road crew and a dump truck driver drove in the lot with tree limbs and leaves stuffed in what was left of his side mirror. I kidded him about cutting brush with his mirrors instead of a chain saw.

    M1009 Transmission options question: TH400 vs 700R4

I have driven and hauled heavy loads with automatic and manual transmissions with 3.08 (gutless airplane gear) and 4.10 (pull a redwood tree stump but wound tighter than a banjo string at 60mph) . I found that 3.73 gears were a happy medium with direct drive, overdrive when truck empty would be...

    Survival 109 build

My friends mentioned with the roof solar panels are you going to put a tree limb protector pipe along the truck box top sides to help prevent a tree limb from putting you in the dark with solar panels dangling behind the deuce by the wires? Food for thought. Lots of trees here overhang the road...

    1987 SUBURBAN DIESEL US Property

Open the phone book under US Government and see who all could be a original user. It is likely that the vehicle was a GSA unit and may have been used in a fire department/ ems service from a local VFD or city. Lots of former M35a2, Chevy and Dodge pickups painted red are being turned in and are...

    Survival 109 build

Are you going to write "THERMOS BOTTLE EQUIPPED" on the truck bed. A Union Carbide school demonstration on liquid nitrogen stated that if your house was insulated like the nitrogen storage jar, you could heat your house with a light bulb!!! You have certainly insulated the walls, now your...

IS HIS SPECIALTY MEXICAN FARE? I would not complain to the cook about anything. In the Frat House we had a common refrigerator and some would borrow if midnight hunger struck. My solution was to keep my stuff in a paper grocery bag because the food thieves were too dumb to look in the bag. Had...
