    Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner Housing

I've got 6.5 turbo on the radar.. it blew a hole in the #8 piston. The other 7 cylinders are still holding at minimum 94% pressure. If the cylinder walls are still good along with the head, I'll grab it. Just not sure if I want the turbo set up or not. Fixing the cooling and injection pump...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

No work on either of the M1008 trucks at the moment, but the shop ordered a new AC compressor for the 86 M1008 and it never showed up. So the shop ordered another one again. Anyone else having shipping issues with parts or anything else? I know everybody is short handed at the moment, but dang👿

Replacement aluminum heater core low heat output idea

The heater core in my 85 M1008 had to be replaced. The replacement heater core was aluminum. The new unit will still roast my butt inside the cab.

    Electric Fuel Pump advise

Is your existing lift pump not working? If it is not, delphi chfp906 is the correct mechanical lift pump. Delphi mf30030 WILL NOT WORK even though it's listed at auto parts retailers. I had to put a new lift pump on my 86 M1008 last year. The Delphi chfp906 works just fine. The only time you...

Power steering pump and steering box #2 installed on the 86 M1008. Let's hope these actually last.. On a positive note it's nice to drive the truck with no play in the steering wheel..

    No Lights

Turn on the headlights and nothing. No flashers or dash lights either. No blown fuses and the blackout switch is in the correct position. **I do get the Gen 1&2 and the glow plug light when I turn the key, but nothing else. What am I missing??

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Took the 💩box M1008 back to the shop to replace/warranty a steering box less than 2mos old.... maybe 1500 miles. The mech swaps out the steering box, test drives the truck and the new power steering pump decided to quit🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. Does anyone these days make decent replacement parts for these...

    M1031 Tire Choice

Forgot ask; is this your first CUCV? IF so, may I suggest swapping out the harmonic balancer ASAP on the 6.2 diesel. Old balancers will destroy these engines. The existing unit may look okay, but that rubber is 35yrs old and hard n dry which greatly reduces its ability to dampen the engine...

    M1031 Tire Choice

I have a set of BFG KM2 255 85 16 on my 86 M1008 with the factory drivetrain. I just keep it 55-57mph.... I do avoid the interstates with it so I don't get ran over lol
