Yep, always a good time and nice to see familiar faces and some new ones too!
Looking forward to more pics and video too!
Shenkmen, thanks for holding up the run til I arrived! ;)
Just saw a telehandler with those tires of that nature (more skid steer design then honeycomb) earlier this week. That whole airless tire fad dealie is going to keep coming.
You may want to take that filter to CarQuest...yes, for real and see what can be matched. When I was changing the fuel filter on my 406's OM352, I had already ordered from a well know Mog house, a new German 'factory' filter. When I pulled the fuel filter can down and pulled out what was in it I...
I just mounted an 8000 series Palfinger on my 931A2. The pic below where the crane is unfolded a bit is not its final orientation, I spun it 180* on the chassis for the final mounting. The other pic is setting and the other is test fitting a 12' deuce dropside behind it. It basically ends up...
I did one on my deuce crane truck. I used a Makita grinder with an .035" 4" disc to make all the cuts. Make sure of your measures and make sure to brace it well when welding back together.
The side will need to be braced and supported VERY well to keep them from moving when you weld them...
I forget which of the ACERT engines it was, might have been the C9 but they seemed to be a bit problematic and with some odd mechanical things happening. One popular one was for turbo's to break off because the surface of the backside of the casting on the exhaust manifold was still slightly...
Both front and rear driveshafts come off of the lower drop of the transfer case. The input from the transmission drive in the upper input of the T-case. Straight through from that is a heavy cap that will be removed to install the PTO. The beauty of these PTO is you can put the t-case in...
Thanks Jim!
20K is generally the front winch on the 5 ton trucks. If you want to PTO drive it, the 800 series is the winch to look for. The later 939 trucks run a hydraulic drive from the factory...though you could retrofit that to an earlier PTO one. I like the PTO but you generally you...
That aluminum Detroit bellowing all that noise was to make the enemy think a whole convoy was headed their way! I like that they're different looking, and will do a decent road speed.
Nice grab John!
The nut is a fairly uncommon thread as well; something like 1"-20 or something like that. I couldn't buy one at any of the fastener houses so bought one with smaller threads, cut them out then recut the threads I need on my lathe. Yes, tapered shaft for the output too.
You should be able to...
My adventure like this was getting to and from Top Truck Challenge in 2005 with a 2,000lb overloaded borrowed trailer that was beat to ****. Long story short, bought a spare tire in Iowa, used it shortly there after, was towed into Hollister and trailer was on one axle. Suspension plates and...
I can have mine in 2nd around the farm and get on the brakes and it will feel like it down shifts to first then slows down and down shifts again. The converter lock up on the 931A2 is strong and definitely feel like a another gear.
My Mitsubishi 3000GT (over 373,000mi stock engine) splits...
