    No Start Help M931A2

The filter rings like its empty. The large shut off solenoid that pushes on a lever on the IP was working fine but seemed to get pretty warm in the few times it was cycles...but worked fine. The filter is after the small fuel shut off solenoid on the top of the pump... do you think that's...

    No Start Help M931A2

I ran my 931 last weekend pulling pine trees down and it worked great. I came up yesterday, hopped in, flipped the battery switch, it made it's typical couple of noises, flipped to run, then start and all it did was turn over with no start. This truck's 6CTA has ALWAYS started within about a...

    m923 seems a little weak

My 931 is rated 15,000lbs pintle and 37,000lbs 5th wheel.

The interpretation of the laws varies as well from your states DOT to the State Police. It shouldn't but it does and will. The laws generally are not cut and dry black and white and that interpretation is where most the problems lie.

    Radiator repairs.

I had one recored a few years back for my crane truck and the V8 CAT. If anyone goes this way, because our radiators run vertically, ask the shop to band it horizontally. That helps with the expansion and contraction that over time bellies out the sides of them and starts them leaking in the core.

Adding multipurpose hydraulics to the deuce

Also keep in mind that rams and motors should have different valves for them. You can get away with it typically, but valves can be built or purchased with ram spools or motor spools.

s788: Long Island, NY to Raleigh, NC

I was on the Varazanno Narrows with my motorcycle and looked at the tool charge and they had motorcycles and buses the same price?!?! I asked the guy at the booth how come I have to pay the same as a whole bus having a fraction of the weight. He tells me, in typical -can't argue with stupid...

    Anyone here have a lathe?

Better double check the location of the added oil control ring. Usually oil control rings are lower in the skirting...not at the top where there would be a better chance of more material like a compression ring. Yorks were on everything through the years...

Okay, so in what state can you get an antique plate on something you just built that never existed...and get it right now...on something with body, frame, axle, wheelbase, brake and suspension modifications?

In PA, technically an engine swap would constitute a reconstructed title. Frame modification is in there too.

Adding multipurpose hydraulics to the deuce

Oh, and here's one for ole Possum. Uniknick. It's sort of a 406 based center articulating log skidder Mog.

Adding multipurpose hydraulics to the deuce

Buy a Unimog MB94 Case truck. Multiple hydraulic front and rear, 'Case Deck' with optional attachment for virtually anything you can think of from tree spade to snow blower to back hoe to a centralized PTO for ag implements. Its a crap load of working making things fit where they didn't...

On that topic, and no offense meant to anyone (though it may...) the bobbed trucks getting away with antique tags is going to become a problem at some point. I hate to not be wildly optimistic about this; but I feel its more 'when and how big a problem' not 'IF' it ever becomes a problem.

That band brake housing is another case of military 'water tight' as opposed to 'water proof.'

    Unimog rear portal axle

New in crate will be interesting to see how it turns out as I'm sort of doubting it has the torque tube with it. HOPEFULLY it has the pinion installed or else it's value just dropped in the crapper; still good for a housing and portal sets though. I'm familiar with the 406/416 axles as I've...

Failed MD CDL Class B due to improper vehicle!

A local trucking school in PA does the test, places like LCTC will do the test for around $200 if you have your med card to use their truck. That's the way I'm going, have to get the physical for $75 then the driving test. Already have knowledge test out of the way. I was told by several...

    Things done wrong

Wow Tim...that's sucks. You think its coolant? The 715's have a way of leaking at the back of the hood; might've found a way to the air filter?? Work at a testing lab in York. We hammer building envelope systems and curtain walls in my dept. The second pic was becomming a really bumpy ride...

    Who sells dropside bed dataplates?

I several dropside tailgates if anyone happens to be in need. The hinge locations are different than the rigid beds.

Looks good anyway Tim! Lot of hard work there! 100LL? That engine will put half that power out the exhaust pipe! We run our Pratt & Whitney R2800's on that stuff at work! The one is only 2,500hp.
