Hey Nick,
I'm planning on being there with my M1009. I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled on Friday so I hope I will be up for the trip. I've got plenty of percocets to keep me loopy for the drive!
I'm meeting a couple of Pinzgauer owners near Easton, PA and will arrive with them.
There's a guy in Kansas that has tons of CUCV parts. His name is Brian but I can't seem to find his email. He sells a lot on eBay. Ask Mangus580. He bought his CUCV from him.
215 miles? That's nothing! I say drive it home. What's the worst that can happen, you get stuck in Kansas or Oklahoma? I'm sure there is some farmer who has a few deuces lying around that can give you parts!
Kenny is right...you'll want more green vehicles. I bought my Unimog in 2002, not...
I'm working on prices for the steel. It won't be until another month when I can make a few of these. I'll get a rough price, get back to you and take some orders. The rack that I have is holding a 33" tire and if were to make them, I would make sure it can accomodate a 33" tire and a feul...
I posted a new thread on the tire rack, with pictures. But for now, here is a shot of the plywood platform I put in my M1009. I keep bins of stuff underneath from prying eyes and it provides a sturdy platform for tools or an air mattress when the rear seat is folded down. For now, this is...
Here are some pics of a civvy tire rack that I picked up. I'm thinking of making some of these at my friend's shop. He's got a tubing bender. If anyone is interested, let me know.

The console hides all my junk food for my cross country trips. I just did 7500 miles in my M1009 and after half of it in the plastic seat, it was time for a change!
My back thanks me.
Well, I've added a much better seat to my M1009. A few years ago, I found a guy on ebay who refurbishes trucks. He gets them new and guts them which gives him a lot of extra seats. He then sells them on ebay for a really good price. I've bought three pairs of these seats and installed them...
Cabell,
I think the bolster trailer tires are different. Looking at some photos of the bolster, they look narrower and taller. Correct me if I am wrong but the M1061 has 12x16 tires?

RE: TM
You can ask Art Swain of Bergenfield, NJ. He has one of these trailers. Not sure if he is an SS member. Send me a pm and I will send you his email.

Tom,
Have you ever thought about moving west to Nevada? It's an incredible place to live. I live in Eureka where we are at 6500' in elevation. Plenty of trees, dirt roads, freedom, and open space. People don't care what or how many vehicles you have in your yard and homes are pretty cheap...
Sean described the rack pretty well. However, I will try to get some photos of mine.
I'm not too crazy about the pin and how it locks. I did some wheeling and the tire rack unhooked and swung open. I need to devise some sort of a lock. On the Ford Broncos, the rack system much better from...
Speaking of M105 trailers...I am selling my converted M105A2 Camper. It is a Unimog radio box mounted on an M105 frame. It does real well off road because I kept the pivot system that Unimog uses. It weighs in at 6,000 lbs so you would need a deuce or bigger to pull it.
Anyone interested...
Just so you buyers are aware, these trailers are very heavy. Also, because of the short tongue to axle distance, they can fish tail on you. Cabell's trailer is a variant of the M1061 in that it had a lowered deck height with wheel wells. This makes it nice for hauling a vehicle. Also, these...
Bruce,
I've found the M101 to be a much better all around trailer. It's lightweight and self dumps. I don't need a deuce to tow it either.
You have a lot of trailers. And I thought I had a lot!
1966 German winch trailer
1970 M105A2 Converted Unimog Radiobox Camper
1944 M5 Bomb trailer...
I don't know if the tire rack is factory or not. I've only seen two Blazers that had them. It sure does free up a lot of space in the rear of the truck and provides a place for a fuel can.
After installing the plywood shelf, it allows me to carry all of my carpentry tools under it, not...
