This place says the power transformer they offer as a replacement unit for the BA635 speakers provides 12AC.
12V AC adapter for boston acoustics BA635 BA735 speaker - LCDPayless.com
This manual labels the power supply as a transformer. Transformers convert AC voltages. No detailed specs...
The speaker will draw amperage based on the voltage supplied and the inherent resistance of the speaker power supply/amplifier.
At 12V they will draw a normal amount of power (amperage). At 24V they would draw twice the amount of power (amperage).
Assuming 24V does not overcome the dielectric...
I believe you should have 800 ohms minimum with the engine cold on the yellow wire (according to the -20 TM).
Do you have the TMs in pdf format? Searching in them is a breeze.

I made new ones out of cordura nylon. These new ones are larger and longer than stock. And yes I put weep holes in them.
The canvas ones are just barely big enough to fit over the hook. I will try to find my one old one and measure it.
My rubber connector was cracking as well so I used some rubber splicing tape to bandage it. The rubber splicing tape stretches and seals becoming almost a single rubber covering over time.
Who puts a glass window in the middle of a truck tailgate?
If GM would have eliminated the stupid semi-removable fiberglass top they could have put a top hinged hatch or double doors on the blazer allowing normal humans to access the back without having lean/crawl over a truck tailgate sticking...
I have had several batteries fail where one minute the start the vehicle and the next start nothing. The internal failure has been so bad the vehicle could not be jumped with the failed battery in place. Load test the batteries as well.
