    glow plug system troubles

The voltage as measured from the pink black to ground (chassis) should be the same as your front battery voltage (or very close). Remove the light blue wire from the relay and check it for voltage as measured to ground (should not be any). Then with the key off, using the ohm meter check...

    glow plug system troubles

The GP has two coil terminals. One gets power anytime the key is on from the pink/black wire (do you have 12.x volts there when the key is on?). The other terminal runs to the module (on the light blue wire) which grounds that lead to energize the GP relay. Show us a picture of your relay and...

Smooth in park/neutral, rough in drive

I read your first post and was suggesting motor or transmission mounts. By the time I got around to posting my reply your second post was now there where you stated the motor and transmission mounts were new .......

Help - Glow plugs don't come on!

My glow plugs cycle every time I do a cold start (year round). How much time is needed between a shutdown and the next start to make it a cold start where the glow plugs cycle is obviously a function of the outside temperature.

AC60 Fried broken glow plug / 12V resistor bypass

If your resistor is shorted it will send all 24V to the glow plugs.

cucv runs great when first started

Typically black smoke is not enough air, white smoke is unburned fuel (lack of combustion) and blue smoke is oil. Water does not compress so if it got into the moving parts there could be serious issues. What about something I have read on this site: loosening the fuel line to each injector...

cucv runs great when first started

So it only misses or knocks when warm and under a load? Does it smoke when running poorly? If so what color is the smoke?

    ignition switch question:

Also the purple wire energizes the starter solenoid (on the starter). 19.5V may not be enough voltage to fully actuate the solenoid.

    ignition switch question:

If each battery is 12.55V then the purple wire should have something close to 25.1V. A bad connection (high resistance) can cause a voltage drop when current flows. Bad batteries will do that (need to be load tested to know for sure). I have seen others with a bad cable that links the...

Help - Glow plugs don't come on!

It could but that pink/blk wire should have voltage when the key is on whether or not the card cycles the glow plugs. Did you read this? http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/62477-gp-module-theory-operation.html

Need help with 12v trailer lights

It seems they are all wrong. I just opened up the lights and swapped the wires there so I did not need to cut the molded plug off.

how can I get 24 volts to power a lamp socket?

I would not consider installing a fuse or fuse link to protect the wires. I would tell you in no uncertain terms that such a safety device is mandatory, unless of course you want to watch your truck burn and possibly worse..... You can use the two terminal strips on the firewall behind the...

Need help with 12v trailer lights

I wonder where the PO found 12V for the brake and turn lights on that 4-wire flat connector. Sorry I cannot be of any real help. Looks like he is using relays to get 24V to control 12V. I am assuming that there is a 12V constant feed coming off one of the batteries (the one that has the...
