When did scripts from googleapis.com become a requirement to post

Test post. Previously after typing novel the interface would return "message too short" and show me a blank form again. I no longer see a quick reply but I can do the standard reply without enabling scripts from googleapis.com. Thank you!

When did scripts from googleapis.com become a requirement to post

Seems I cannot post a reply without enabling scrips from googleapis.com. When did this change?

cucv no power to starter relay

The number one rule when installing electrical gizmos (or doing any electrical work) is to remove the negative wires from both batteries. That prevents the electrical fireworks from appearing right before things stop working.

    84 M1009 not starting

So it looks like the relay is not burning up the glow plugs. I believe others have mentioned bad injectors as a possible source of glow plug damage.

    84 M1009 not starting

The glow plug control card switches the light blue wire to ground to allow current flow through the relay coil so yes you should see voltage on both small posts. When the truck is running do you measure voltage on both large posts?

No power at white/black wire for lights

What happens if you take a wire and jumper around the light switch? Do you get lights?

No power at white/black wire for lights

We need warthog. In the mean time see if this helps. It was colored by unclesam, I combined the two pages. If you have power into the main headlight switch do you measure power out? If not may very well be a bad switch. Do not forget the grounds. Technically electrons flow from negative to...

    neutral bonding at the generator

So the generator frame is always connected to the ground rod and the 'bonding switch' lets you bond and unbond the grounded conductor at the generator as needed. When the generator is powering the house the 'bonding switch' is open and grounded conductor/grounding conductor bonding takes place...

May buy a 86 M1009 tomorrow and need help

When people tell me they have fixed/rebuilt something and it still does not work that makes me believe that they have no clue what they are doing. I would be concerned about what else this current owner has 'fixed'. Then again if you can fix things and the price is right go for it. I think of...

    NOOB Electrical Question

You should do a search for the TM/manuals as they have the schematics in them.

    neutral bonding at the generator

Do you have a wire that connects your neutral (grounded conductor) to the generator frame? Is your ground rod bonded to the generator frame?
  13. mistaken1

    neutral bonding at the generator

According to this the generator neutral (grounded conductor) is not to be bonded the grounding electrode system. However the generator ground (grounding conductor) is to be bonded to the grounding electrode system. In other words keep the generator neutral isolated from the generator ground...

Cold start issue, suspect glow plug cycle time.

Read this: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/62477-gp-module-theory-operation.html See if that does not help. There is also this from the TM: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/76543-wait-light-momentarily.html#post963623

Noob M1009 Owner asks 12 or 24V Which is better & what is required when adding A/C?

The only things 24V are the glow plug system and the starter (and perhaps a radio bus behind the passenger seat). (doh! and the voltmeter) Welcome to the site, I hope you get the butched up wiring fixed.

Recovering an M101a2 from GL - what to take

Those non-contact infrared thermometers are great for checking for hot bearings and sticking brake shoes. Test your towing light set. Many people have reported them being wired backwards (bright filament on with taillights, brake/turn on the dimmer filament). Some people cut and rewire the...

No voltage at cold advance leads - Glow Plug Module faulty?

PNK/BLK-39B splices and becomes PNK/BLK-39A that terminates on a fuse (20A engine control) to power the circuit in question along with a number of other circuits.

    My first heartbreak...

The replacement felt channels I ordered were one piece from the back channel bracket up and around the door and back down the vent window assembly channel. The rubber on my vent windows was new from the MONG. For the felt channel I removed the vent assembly from the door completely and removed...
