You can let it sit for as long as you'd like but it will always be black. I find that letting the oil sit for a few days draws most of the nasty stuff to the bottom thanks to gravity. FYI hydraulic oil burns better than WMO.

Naw, didn't make it. I kept running into fuel issues since my tanks are full of crap. I have a temporary 55 gallon drum tank set up for now. It's a bit to see how much fuel is left which sucks. I still have a bad oil leak. I'll be there next time!

PB blaster is a penetrating oil which thins the other oils. I know the inside is important but the outside is too. It has held up well on the winch cable of multiple winches I've used and that have been abused by other people who don't know how to properly spool cables and makes bird nests out...

I usually use some combo of motor oil and PB blaster or hydraulic or gear oil. Make the cable look new again and removes any light rust on the outside.
