The 5.9 Cummins started life as a 12 valve (noisy). It evolved into the 24 valve (quieter). The engine you may be thinking of is the newer 6.7 Cummins that showed up in 2007.
I was the high bidder on a 6.2 in a storage can. I was unable to preview the engine so I only had the pictures to go by. In my eye it looks like a complete motor that was rebuilt and put in the box.

I really enjoyed the whole Tower Park event. But here is a list of things I will do different the next time I go to a MV rally.
1. Camp on site.
A. Hotels can be expensive.
B. Can't hang out with other MV owners.
C. Driving to and from simply stinks when your vehicle has illegal display stuff...

Sounds like fun. Do the vehicle operators get to fight back in the event of an ambush? I only have my M1009 CUCV and it's painted woodland camo not desert camo or beige. But I do have a few airsoft weapons to protect my truck with.;)
