Thats reassuring, thanks. So far TNJ is the only one I found who has a gasket set listed. Will call others tomorrow. Hey searls84, where did you buy your gasket?
Thanks for the info, was afraid of that. After twisting and pulling I kinda figured it wasnt gonna come off. Been soaking down the exhaust bolts with kroil, hopefully I don't twist any of them off. The bottom row is going to be fun to get to. Guess Ill go ahead and order that gasket I was hoping...
Anyone know if it is possible to remove the intake manifold without also removing the exhaust manifold on a LDT465? I am replacing my intake and dont really want to mess with taking the exhaust off if I dont have to. TM says to remove them both as a unit, but it has been wrong before so thought...
Thanks to goldneagle a replacement intake is soon to be on its way.
I plan on reusing the turbo to intake gasket but what about the intake to head gasket, can it also be reused with some rtv or does it need to be replaced?
I would if I could do it on the truck, but having to remove it to take to someone who knows what there doing... might as well replace it and be done.
But then again the JB Weld idea might work since its not a high pressure area... I was thinking about trying it, but ...
Still got to get that...
Yea I figured better to replace, especially if I had to pull off to take to a welder anyway. Guess its time to post a want add for a replacement.
This simple little project just got alot worse...
Stubborn pipe plug cracked my manifold!!!
Been trying to get a pipe plug out for several days to install a cab heater. After numerous soakings with kroil, heating up with a torch, etc the vice grips still kept slipping off, rounding head in process. So I would grind new flats, and repeat...
Just found out I will be going to Ft Bragg tomorrow 12/27 to pick up a load. Will be leaving from Franklin NC with a full size pickup pulling an enclosed 5'x12' trailer, both empty. If anyone needs anything hauled anywhere in between let me know.
The price was $400 for a set of 4, not each.
They are Michelin, not sure of date.
So with 1/2" of remaining tread, where would that put these as a percent? 50% or closer to 70%? Got a lead on some 90% tires for $150 each but then I would have to add in shipping.
Im looking at a set of 4 - 14.00R20s for my bobbed deuce. Owner says middle tread is at 1/2 to 5/8, and outside tread is at 7/8. So what would the set be worth? Got him down to $400, or should I wait and get a set at 85% tread for $695. aua
Welcome to the site, and nice truck. Saw it on craigslist, had alot of nice features if I remember correctly... warn electric winch and additional 12v alternator to name a few. Always thought it looked like an aircraft tow tractor.
Looking to get a toolbox and spare tire carrier from a 931 moved from Csm Davis's place in Hattiesburg MS to somewhere closer to my place in Franklin NC. Can drive to meet you if your coming anywhere close.
Thanks for your help and sorry for the attitude. Thats what I get for drinking and typing. Just was confused because picture showed a different approach than I had planned and I was curious on the results. And since I haven't said it before, good job on keeping this site going, it seems to be a...
But yet the picture you refer to shows outlet pointed toward firewall, which is why I asked. Nevermind, will figure out myself, sorry for wasting your time...
